Stewart #If the first episode was a simple standalone to ease us back into the new series then episode two hits the ground running and working hard #To remind us where we have come from and where we might be going. Bryant is back as mysterious Soviet agent Christine Morris and several #Of the bigger events of s. 1 are name checked (Troika and the spy exchange in particular). The relationship between Jordan and Christine #Continues to develop and we get a decent bit of east German spymanship into the bargain. A very satisfying episode polished off by a great #Guest turn by perennial favourite Jaeger as the most huggable secret policeman in cold War Europe. Elsewhere Christine silently judges #Jordan's taste in colourful clothing and Mackay gets one of the best lines yet: when accused by Moxon of being 'unromantic' he snaps back #Simply 'I'm from Glasgow!'. The tangled mystery of what exactly is going on could maybe be tightened a bit but a lot of great parts add up #To a fairly superior whole I'm happy to say. More like this I hope.

McCormack #I was sold on this the second i saw the cover. Anton rodgers and nyree dawn porter in a love triangle farce? Borrowed wives and secrets #From rich uncles? I mean how much more charming can you get?? Sadly quite a bit more. This was fine but i think i got over enthusiastic #Cast aside it has little to recommend it. Oh rodgers and Porter are as adorable as i expected (I've never seen her so young! I honestly #Dont think id have recognised her if it wasn't for that unmistakable voice) and genre faves like hallett and browning add to the fun #Warren is good fun too. He'd not long moved to the uk and begins the film with a highly suspect very english accent but bits of his own #Australian voice start to drop in. But a good cast cannot always a good film make. The story is just too flimsy. The script is amusing only #At intervals. And the happy ever after ending really does stretch the boundaries of belief. Add to this a frequently intrusive and far from #Subtle score and a few underdeveloped sight gags and you get an underwhelming whole. Ho hum. It was worth it #If only to see baby anton and baby Nyree and at least at 67 mins it doesn't outstay its welcome. Not a memorable experience sadly
