jancy AU where the byers live in a house just outside the forest and since jonathan is the oldest, he's sent to go hunting / fishing very often but he also genuinely enjoys the nature (and likes to stay outside the house as much as possible when joyce and will aren't home because of lonnie), and one day he meets and befriends a forest spirit (nancy), who's been noticing him a lot since he spends so much time in the wild, and her natural curiosity about humans (nancy's thirst for knowledge and journalistic nature iktr) draws her to him because she sees how kind he is to the animals. do we see it

Stranger Things AU - Jancy as Paranormal Investigators Moodboard

Jonathan Byers was 13 the first time he saw a ghost, he screamed so loud he nearly woke the neighbors. Seven years and one brief stint in Pennhurst later, he's crisscrossing the country with his girlfriend, dispelling rumors, exorcising poltergeists, and trying to bring families closure. Nancy Wheeler is first and foremost a skeptic, so naturally, it's her boyfriend who can see spirits. And if it weren't for her own personal experience with a haunting she wouldn't believe him. She doesn't trust half the stories they hear, but she's not about to let him go investigate the paranormal on his own.

Would you ever consider doing a Sleepless in Seattle AU for Jancy? I can’t believe no one has done it yet, I mean I can totally see Jonathan as a widowed single father struggling to put himself back out there, and Nancy is literally a journalist who was once stuck in a dead-end relationship- I think it would be totally in character for her to fall in love with his personality over the radio and spontaneously decide to follow him across the country.

Believe it or not, I've never actually seen Sleepless in Seattle (ah, put down your pitchforks! lol). But based on your lovely description, it seems there are some great connections between Jancy and the canon dynamics from the movie!

Don't think I'll be able to do this particlular au justice at present, but I'm sharing this ask so maybe another jancy fan/writer/mutual may see this and be inspired<3 or who knows, maybe you'll be like to heck with it, I'll write it best if no one else will (many a fanfic au are written from this exact feeling)!

But before we get into this week’s Spotlight, just a quick reminder about the upcoming We Love Jancy Fanart Event happening February 11th - 14th.

In addition, the Spring Fanfic Event will be March 21st - 24th and will use the same prompts as the Fanart Event. OR you can use the fanarts posted for the Fanart Event to inspire you as well.

This week, we are spotlighting AU Jancy… or Jancy finding each other in any universe.

AUs can be one small detail that is changed (such as Nancy never getting back together with Steve) or a major change such as the setting not being the same as the show (i.e. not in Hawkins or not set in 1980’s).

Or an AU can be a lot of changes which puts Jancy in a completely different world… and this is honestly so fun to read, see, etc.!

So bring on all the AU Jancy fanfics, fanarts, moodboards… they are so amazing! We love them all!
