8/30/20 Entry

The stars shine brightly tonight. When one lives in a busy town like I do, I forget about the stars sometimes. They’re hard to see through the city lights and it seems like every night the sky is shrouded in clouds. But tonight was different. We sat on the tailgate of Frederick for hours, pointing out the few constellations that we could remember. We almost never all hang out together; Janden is a drifter, he seems to never stay in place for any amount of time. Alex was quiet tonight; she is always quiet. Rhyder was...himself. Willis finally worked up the nerve to try and hold my hand. I let it happen, but it was extremely difficult. He was trying to light up his hand again; one of these days I’m going to throw away his lighter for good. It got chilly really quickly, so we huddled up and bundled in blankets. The stars shined brightly tonight; it was a beautiful change.
