Doomwatch: In The Dark (2.9, BBC, 1971)
"He should be dead!"
"Exactly! As you can see, he's not."
"That depends on how you define living, doesn't it."

In my Doomwatch? It's more likely than i thought! I didn't know he'd appeared in this so this was a very pleasant surprise#A rather dense and heavy episode but that's not exactly a criticism. It asks a lot of big questions about the nature of life and death and#What price we could conceivably pay for existing. The relevance of the title isn't clear until fairly late on and then it takes on an#Awfully morbid meaning. And another good Ridge episode too; his showdown with Quist is the highlight of the episode and for once it's#Because he actually has Quist's best interests at heart but he expresses himself in such an aggressively Ridgean way that of course they#End up sort of arguing instead of hugging it out like they should do. Dr. Chantry gets some good moments too and Charlton is very#Excellent and sad as Troughton's conflicted daughter. Nolan on the other hand continues to have very little to do so that i keep#Forgetting he's even on the show until his face pops up for five minutes and he scurries off to do some unseen legwork
