The Hedge Fund Mirage
The Wall Street Journal reviewed Simon Lack's book, The Hedge Fund Mirage, on January 24. One quote from the review is all we need to know:
"If all the money that's ever been invested in hedge funds had been put in Treasury bills instead, the results would have been twice as good"
The reason?
1. For every George Soros there's a Long Term Capital Management and Bernie Madoff out there.
2. Hedge fund managers take 20% of the profits.
