I just love how Jane Rose affectionately imitates Charlie’s voice asking if Keith can see him. I think she’s amused that this gentle soul is asking if Keith has time to see him as if Keith wouldn’t clear his entire schedule for the day if Charlie wanted to meet.
It’s so sweet but also very funny. I love that she (an American) doesn’t bother to attempt the British accent but does sort of lighten her voice and put everything in an upwards intonation and tilt her head to the side when she’s telling Ronnie about what Charlie said:
By that point she had been around for decades and was Keith’s close confidant, so I’m sure she knew as well as anyone (except Charlie, who is somehow blind to this) that Keith was always and forever at his beck and call.
It’s also hilarious how Ronnie goes out of his way to emphasize that Keith will be going all the way from LA to Phoenix for this little meeting and that he’ll be staying there ‘for ages.’ And Don just clapping when this happens.
