Guildford was sat on the beach, watching the waves rolling in and breaking against the shore. His thoughts were as wild as the uncharted waters beyond the horizon.

The sea and his ship had always been where Guildford felt most at peace. And ever since he’d been found washed ashore, barely conscious, nearly a fortnight ago, he felt an even greater pull toward the water.

However, he wasn’t just longing for an escape from the burdens of his duties as crown prince but rather he was looking for her. The ethereal creature he believed saved his life and now haunted his dreams. He could only recall her in brief flashes — her fair skin, long brown hair, and hazel eyes. The sound of her angelic voice echoed through his mind, overpowering all else, not unlike the stories of the Sirens said to enchant sailors at sea.

He’d searched the village with Stan for the girl with no luck. Stan had told him that perhaps she was simply a figment of his imagination. Guildford knew different — that’s why he kept returning to this spot day after day. It wasn’t just the sea who called to him — it was her — she was out there and he was determined to find her.
