first snow fluff for @janehopperr​

Winter weekend mornings were for sleeping and staying warm under the covers, as far as Hopper was concerned. He had no desire to get out of bed for almost any reason. When a sliver of light fell across his face, he practically winced and moved to turn over and away from it. But before he did, he happened to open one eye and notice that snow was falling outside. The first snow of the season.

He tried to close his eyes and go back to sleep, but he just kept smiling to himself as thoughts drifted back to memories of bare forest trees, eggos left inside a wooden box, keeping his ears open for any word of the strange kid with powers who had seemingly disappeared. He’d basically lured Jane back like a cat, bribing her with food and the promise of a warm place to stay. He had thought he was saving her, but in the end, she had been the one to save him.

Finally, he got up, threw on a warm flannel, stepped into his slippers, and padded out to roll up the window blinds and move the couch so that they would have a perfect view. Then he went into Jane’s room to wake her up.

“Hey, kiddo,” he said softly, trying to wake her gently. “It’s snowing. Come see.”
