I’m not a huge fan of the prompts this round tbh. :/ and I also need to work on my exchange fic, ugh april is coming up quicker than I thought!! I will not procrastinate, I will not procrastinate…

I like some of them, but haven't quite been spurred to action by any of them yet. And I agree, all of a sudden I'm like OH MY GOD IT'S MARCH MY FIC IS DUE NEXT MONTH I THOUGHT I HAD FOREVER? I have ~1200 very rough words, but I think it's going to be a long fic so I need to get my ass in gear. I'm having trouble translating the thoughts in my head into actual words - UGH.

  UGH YES.  The Sandor/Sansa stories featuring Jaime/Brienne are, for obvious reasons, the ultimate of DO NOT WANT for me.  And they're very, very, very common.  ><

It's just like...don't screw with my emotions like that.  You want to ship SanSan and Jaime/Sansa in the same story?  Whatever, that's your business.  But this story had ZERO mention of Sandor, and then he just appears as a POV character.  You did not prepare me in any way for that, dear Author.  Not cool, bro.  Not cool.

(And UGHHHHH authors LOVE to incorporate SanSan as a secondary pairing.  Like, ISN'T THERE ENOUGH SANSAN ON AO3 FOR YOU?  Must you shoehorn it into every single story that involves my bb Sansa?)

how did you feel about the seven devils trailer?

I just rewatched it because I didn't remember it very well, and it's a lot better. It feels so much less rushed, it has longer pieces of dialogue that actually mean something instead of tiny snippets. And while the music is kinda mediocre and I will never understand why they use some basic pop music for fantasy shows, it doesn't suck quite as much as the music in the new trailer. I'm probably offending all the people on tumblr right now who thought those songs were awesome, but whatever. But yeah, I guess I was really excited when I first saw it because before season two I still really liked the show, I was super excited to see Stannis on the show and it was before I knew that show!Stannis was terrible. ;)

I DON’T KNOWWWWWW!!! I mean, it has always kind of lurked around the edges of fandom (mostly from Cersei-haters who want to blame everything that’s wrong with the Lannisters on her and want to absolve Jaime of all responsibility for his own choices).  But lately it’s just BLOWING UP, and I DO NOT understand.  JAIME IS A BAD FATHER.  HE’S A REALLY BAD FATHER.  HE CANNOT LOCATE A SPARE SHIT TO GIVE ABOUT ANY OF HIS CHILDREN (with the possible exception of Tommen, but even that seems to have little to do with a father-son bond).  I’D HONESTLY BE SURPRISED IF HE EVEN REMEMBERS WHO MYRCELLA IS.  HE IS A DEADBEAT DAD, AND HE OPENLY ADMITS IT.  

So yeah.  This whole thing is really mystifying to me.

Weirdly enough, I DON’T have thoughts on Arthur/Ashara.  I honestly don’t ship incest unless it’s Cersei/Jaime.  And there’s nothing that canon tells us about Arthur and Ashara that feels especially shippy, you know?  As for Arthur/Ashara/Jaime…it’s really the Ashara/Jaime part that I have the most trouble with.  Even though I don’t really ship it, I can understand the thought behind Arthur/Ashara.  And OBVIOUSLY I ship Arthur/Jaime like there’s no tomorrow.  But I can’t really conceive of a universe in which Jaime would want anything to do with Ashara (or any woman who isn’t Cersei at that point in his life).

It's just so unappealing to me.  The promo post started with "Have you ever wondered how the characters from Game of Thrones would fare in high school blahblahblah?"  And I was like "...no.  No, I have actually never in my life even considered wondering that."  But hey, if people like it, that's great.  I just don't want it on my dash.
