personality
she's a textbook basketcase. most people go "who?" when asked about her, and those who do know her, say she hardly ever talks. jane can be found deep in a book in the corner of the library, earbuds in listening to whatever it is weird teenagers listen to. music is her whole life, it's what keeps her sane at the neverending hell that is bullworth academy.
jane was diagnosed with a panic disorder at a young age, often being paralyzed with an impending fear that isn't ever there. it was hard for her to leave the house as a kid, worried something terrible would happen to her. this stunted her ability to socialize drastically, as she found it hard to communicate with other kids her age, and would often end in her being made fun of, thus only fueling her disorder. janet would often spend many nights lying in bed awake, causing her to develop insomnia, and the medications they put her on didn't help.
truly, janet is nothing but a sweetheart. she wants nothing more than to be able to socialize with others properly. and she's been getting better at it! in freshman year, her family was finally able to scrape up enough money for her to start going to therapy, where she learned healthier coping methods and how to properly talk to others without going too far out of her comfort zone.
however, when she is comfortable enough with someone to consider them a friend, she has no problem keeping up with small banter, often shooting some sarcastic quips the other's way. almost immediately, though, jane feels sorry and needs reassurance that she didn't cross a line.
janet is easily intimidated by others, often scared of any guy with slight muscle, or a girl who's far too pretty. absolute bisexual disaster, unfortunately.
growing up, music was always her escape from everything. it's the one thing she can do without being riddled with anxiety. jane used to dance competitively from ages 4-7, and she often wishes to continue pursuing it soon. when she's alone in her dorm room, it's not hard to catch her dancing to music on her cd player.
now, instead of dance, she chooses to play instruments. despite her mild dislike of loud noises, her favorite instrument to play is the tenor drums, followed closely by the oboe. jane tends to subconsciously drum along to whatever rhythm she's listening to, which leads to her being red in the face when someone points it out to her.
relationships
gary smith:
oh boy. to say their relationship is healthy would be an absolute lie. gary and janet met in middle school, gary being one of the few people she felt comfortable around at school. they bonded over their shared "affinity" for being mentally ill when they found each other both outside the counselor's office. because of this, janet grew almost attached to gary, for fear of losing the one person she felt understood her, and gary knew this, using it to his advantage.
in high school, as gary's mental state deteriorated, he began to see how he could use janet as a pawn, knowing she'd never dream of leaving him. and so, cue them "dating". what janet thought was real, was only gary using her for his own gain, at least at first. about three months in with his facade, he found himself actually caring for her, in a way even he didn't think was possible for him. he actually... loved her?
despite his revelation, he still wasn't the best boyfriend to janet, often talking down on her and trying to convince her to stop taking her meds, going so far as to get rid of whatever she had left. he'd say they were "holding her back", but she knew he was wrong.
(she'll break up with him at some point guys, I swear...i just haven't figured out how LOL)
jimmy
at first, she was put off by his rude mannerisms when he first arrived at bullworth. janet wanted nothing to do with him, for fear he'd target his anger towards her. she'd soon come to find, though, that he wasn't that bad of a guy, especially with how he would defend the "weaker" students, including Petey, who she considers a friend. eventually, they'd bond over their shared interest in music, even if janet's much more passionate about it. jimmy would even stand up to others for her if he'd ever heard students talking bad about janet.
pete
pete is one of the few people at bullworth who never scared janet, though she'd never tell him. she quite enjoys hanging out with him, actually, as he tends to be a voice of reason for her. whenever gary decides to reign fire on pete, janet does unfortunately stand by, but afterwards, when gary leaves, she apologizes profusely. pete doesn't understand what she sees in that guy :/

Charlie's opinions + interactions with Janet:
Charlie would not consider Janet as a 'weirdo' but more of a girl who has a hard life. She wouldn't be mean to her because Charlie is not a bitch, but she would be sometimes if she sees Janet with Gary and asks her what she sees in him (Charlie believes if a person dares Gary, they're either getting manipulated by him or it was a dare by their friends/a friend to date him). And lastly, she quietly hopes that Janet breaks up with him... even if that sounds totally rude because she thinks Janet deserves so much better and Gary deserves nothing. Her honesty and her blunt way of talking would probably hurt Janet's feelings and she feels bad a little bit, Charlie can't change the way she talks so...
that doesn't mean she's rude, she can be nice to Janet. She would let her listen to her headphones if Janet asks her 'can I listen?', it's rare for Charlie to share something with people and Janet is one of those people. And when Janet talks about music to her, she thinks she has the best music taste in Bullworth and they would talk about music for hours without realizing. Charlie and Janet would be good friends, and possibly the first person that Charlie has constantly talks to

Oh, how they turned indeed😈😈 anyways, here's how Fieldsman would interact with her!!
- "Wait, WHAT? You're dating THE Gary Smith? You mean that weirdo who keeps annoying Jimmy and Pete?"
- meeting her for the first time would be actually pretty wholesome to say the least. Starting the dialogue with books, a boring time to be around the school itself until it changes to music talk and it changes to the part where they say their names and stuff.
- "Name's Andre. Andre Fieldsman, i'm pleased to meetcha'! And your name is?"
- he'd feel nice around her. A little break from the usual trio, since he always used to hang out with them for a while.
- Huge golden retriever energy. Although he will do his best to stay calm around her!!
- he will be patient with her at all times possible, although he would be asking things like "are you alright?" to her to see of she's fine or not since she's suddenly so quiet.
- once she gets more comfy around him, i feel like he'd tease her a bit. Playfully though, he wouldn't say bad things.
- he'd try to use some skate tricks to impress her now and then, and maybe even teach her some :D
- he'd also talk about the situation he has with jimmy, unfortunately. (Context for the whole thing was that Andre flirted with him each and everyday in brasilian portuguese playfully without him knowing.. and when he found out, he was in a strike to get Andre's ass for a long time. He still is doing this, actually!)
- he'd beg for her to not tell Jimmy where he is. He automatically becomes a scaredy cat when he's near.
- Music vibes are a 100%. And when it comes to yapping about 80's - 90's music.. a yap battle would occur. (Which sadly, Andre loses all of the time😭😭 one day he'll out-yap her!!)
- he'd show her some underrated music that he listens to in his mixtape. (Funfact! His father gave him one of his walkman cassette players as a birthday gift, since he didn't know what to give him. He teached him how to make mixtapes in the old fashioned way.)
