Janus is a Snake headcannons:
-There is religious talking kinda, you have been warned-
If we are going with Christianity, then yes snakes can represent deception, lying, and if you would go so far, evil
But in Roman times, (Janus is a Roman god) snake venom (lies) was sought after because it was of high medical importance and could be used to make antidotes for varios ailments
-So the religious language is done if you wanted to skip that-
So yes, lying can cause harm, but it can also be used for good
I dont know what snake janus is supposed to be, but most of this is based around king cobras because I love them
So king cobras can actually control how much venom they use, because it is a precious resource (which is why if you get bitten, you are most likely not going to die, your not worth it to them)
So I think Janus is perfectly capable of telling the truth, and can control his (and possibly others?) lies
When king cobras find a human civilization that offers easier pickings, and safety, if removed, will seek out another or the same one. (Like the light sides maybe....if he likes it he'll keep coming back...)
When snakes shed, their eyes become milky. So I really like Janus being blind/half-blind when he sheds, and the others not realizing
So snakes use their Jacobson's organ to scent the air around them, so just to put a little bit of a twist on it, J doesn't have it, but he does have a horrible sense of smell (which helps with his boyfriend Remus)
When a male snake is interested in a female, he pretty much bothers her until she gives in. Now whether J is bothering someone, or someone is bothering him, cute
So snakes sleep very curled together, we all know that, so obviously J is the little spoon
We all know J can't control his temperature, and I love that
When males fight there is an unspoken rule that there is no bighting, and will just kinda throw themselves against each other to win. (Just imagine J getting mad and throwing himself against another side)
(So king cobras favorite food are actually RAT snakes, I'll just leave that here)
So like, this applies to Patton as well, but like their animal traits dont work with their dad/mom thing. Frogs and snakes leave their children to fend for themselves, snakes literally have an instinct to leave their eggs when they hatch so that they dont eat the young snakes
Just sayin'. I love dad and momciet, I just wanted to discuss that point
That's all I have right now, feel free to add your own facts onto. I could try to do one for Remus, or more in depth for Patton, but idk. I really like snakes so I just wanted to ramble, anyways hope you enjoyed if you read that, BYE!!!
