Amos is deep into a bottle of the Belt's shittiest hooch, which is all he can scrounge up in the wake of the collapse of Ganymede and their excellent distilleries, when he hears Holden and Naomi on their way to the galley. They're obviously also drunk, but in a much happier, gigglier state that Amos is. He's not sure why he does it, isn't one to bother with evading awkward situations since they don't much affect him, but he flops over to a nearby crash couch and pretends to be passed out. He grabs a pillow someone had left there and holds up against his chest for added realism.

Set sometime between Abaddon's Gate and Cibola Burn.

OKAY SO BECAUSE I PLOT IN SECONDS ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU A THING I CAME UP WITH THE MOMENT JAOMI WAS MENTIONED AS A THING

after mary died john did have a thing with kate briefly, but didn’t marry her even after adam was born because she married someone else

and naomi has cas and samandriel, her husband michael passed away (thinking military or cop). and she moves in next door john and her sons start playing with dean and sam and she isn’t sure what to think at first but then she starts hearing about how dean keeps cas and samandriel from getting picked on, so she’s mostly okay (though she doesn’t quite understand why he insists on calling samandriel alfie).

and they live next door to each other for years and eventually get together and move in together and what they don’t know is that for years cas and samandriel have been doing some not-quite-brotherly things together and dean has helped cover for them (when he wasn’t in the middle of their kisses and sucks)

and sam knows too, but he’s basically grown up with it so he doesn’t even pay the errant kisses and fleeting touches any mind

john’s in denial and naomi doesn’t even know what to think
