#E32016: All The Persona 5 Details We’ve Learned
It’s no secret a few of us here at WTFGamersOnly are obsessed with the Persona series, and after E3 we’ve been keeping our eyes and ears locked on anything we hear surrounding the next installment in the series. So, here’s a summary of all the information we’ve found out about Persona 5 from E3 and what you can look forward to come September (or February 14th in North America). (more…)

Okay I just remembered this
So who remembers last year for April Fool’s day a website called “Japanator” made a joke post stating that the game “The Last Guardian” had a release date? Fast forward to Sony’s E3 Press Conference and that “joke” actually kind of backfired because remember that Last Guardian is scheduled to come out this year When I think about that its actually kind of funny Oh and for April Fool’s this year MAL (MyAnimeList) is called “YAL” or “YourAnimeList” and “Your” is in yellow I actually think that’s kind of funny
A Beginners guide to Gintama
-----Disclaimer: the content below goes to their rightful owner, it is not mine-----
As promised here is a little list I'll call the "Beginner's Guide to Gintama". I hope it help you with your first time watching the series. -Don't worry if you don't get the joke When Gintama first came out I saw a lot of criticism about its use of pop culture jokes. That it's "overwhelming" and "hard to find funny" when not knowing all the references it makes. Fear not though, if this is a reason you have been avoiding the show, don't worry. The show is funny enough on its own without getting all the jokes. There is also a lot more to it, more on that in a second. -Watch out for the character pendulum I'm not sure if there is any nomenclature out there but here's my own. If you watch Gintama for any length of time you'll find that every comedy character will become serious and every serious character will become goofy and back again and so on. Some people say this makes the show seem schizophrenic, but I see it as more true to life. We all have our moments of levity and our solemn moments as well, though maybe not to such extremes. But that is just what Gintama is; as over the top in comedy as in drama. Speaking of which... -Be prepared for drama at any moment I don't care if the episode started out with Gintoki getting a sword stuck up his butt, it can turn serious at the snap of your fingers. Don't be alarmed though, they is usually still some fun along the way, but Gintama is no half hearted drama. Be ready for grinding your teeth in frustration at the villain and shedding tears for the plight of the protagonists. -Keep a sharp eye out You never know what will be important later. If you pay close attention you might catch an image or a stray bit of dialogue that hints of whats to come. He's a crafty gorilla. -The show will reward you for watching With money! Not really. Self referencing past events and jokes, even things you thought were just running gags can lead to character development. Recurring characters all get their time in the sun. I firmly believe Gintama is one of the most well developed universes out there. -Just have fun with it Really, just say to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax". I think people's biggest problem is they bring their own prejudices. It's not Rurouni Kenshin. It is not just comedy week to week. It is Gintama. Once you go with that, I think you'll enjoy yourself.

From Casual Reader to News Writer: How I Became an Internet Writer
From Casual Reader to News Writer: How I Became an Internet Writer
As an introverted teenager, I found solace in the corner stroking my iPod and listening to the voices of the Internet i.e. podcasts. They were the only ones that shared my passion for games, anime, and geeky culture in general so it was a dream of mine to become an Internet writer. Getting review copies, going to events, staying up late chatting about the themes and intricacies of some bizarre…

Leaving Japanator
Since its inception, I've had my hands deep in the inner-workings of Japanator.com. Unfortunately, it's time to move on.
What do you do when something has been your identity for a full third of your life, when so many people associate you with that project? I don't know, and it'll certainly be an adventure to find out where I go from here.
I'm not leaving over bad blood or being forced out: I got a new day job, but it does require me to cease my freelance work. The benefits of this job means I can move out, buy all the expensive clothes I want, and finally start my life like I've been meaning to for the last five years.
That's an opportunity too good to pass up.
I've met too many amazing people while working for Modern Method. Whether it be the people I worked with at Japanator and Destructoid on a day-to-day basis, or the industry friends that I made (Deb, Christopher & Ed in particular). I am grateful to know all of you, and I hope that we'll still keep in touch after all this.
It's really hard to believe that Hamza and Niero are the only people who have been at the company longer than me. It's a testament to how much has gone on at the company. I might not have always been in the limelight, but I did what I could for the company. I'm proud of what I contributed, and always wished I could do more.
Part of me wonders how much anime I'll watch, or how much manga I'll read. I can't imagine taking a break from the mediums entirely, but I do admit it's a bit of a relief to not feel like I have to produce a response after viewing a work. I can just enjoy it for what it is. After some time, I'm sure I'll get the itch again.
But hey, I'll still be around. Don't be a stranger, folks.
