Juniperus Procumbens

The Japanese juniper (sometimes referred to as a bonsai), is a beautiful and full shrub. They tolerate drought, shade, sun, and lots of moisture, so they may be placed anywhere. They make for splendid ground cover and do very well outdoors. Once they are planted outside, they should be fed in the spring and placed in loam rich soil to ensure they live to their fullest potential.

念願の真柏素材

ついに、購入してしまいました。初めての中品サイズ（多分）の真柏。マンションのベランダで管理しているため、もうこれ以上盆栽置けないくらい大きい。

一見すると中央に大きなシャリがあるような印象ですが、これはおそらく、白骨化した別の木を置き、その根元から二本の真柏を巻きつけているように思います。一体化していないのは少し残念ですが、植え替えしてみないと実際のところは分からないですし、それを踏まえてもこの見た目に一目惚れ。

ここまで選択肢が多いのは初めての経験で、正直まだ正面も決めかねているくらい、いろんな姿を妄想してグフグフしてます。やばい楽しい。

購入場所はJAふかや用土センター。大体2,3か月に一度パトロールしてますが、1〜2時間では見きれない程の素材があり、粗いけれどその分お値段も信じられないくらい安いものが多く、本当にお勧めスポットです。お財布とスペースが許せば他にも欲しいものがゴロゴロ。中毒性の高い場所になっております。

真柏購入

某機材の撮影用小物として、いい感じのサイズ・見た目の樹を探していましたが、ようやく納得できるものを購入しました。

細幹ながら、ポテンシャルを感じる模様とジンシャリの入ったシンパクです。手前の枝がシャリを隠してしまっているのが気になるところではありますが、お値段も手頃で良い買い物ができました。

しばらくは様子を見定めてから、剪定・針金掛を行いたいと思います。

真柏の樹形に悩む

先日成勝園さんで購入したこちらのシンパク、3月頃には化粧鉢に植え替えを行いたいなぁと思っているのですが、今後どのような樹形にしたら良いか悩んでいます。

このまま模様木としてしばらく様子見か、左に流れている枝をジンにして、右に30度ほど傾けて半懸崖にするのか、実に悩ましい。

ここは通さないぞと左右に手を広げているような今の姿も好きですし、結論はまだ出ないのですが、幸い健康に育っているので、もうしばらく眺め続けて良いイメージを見つけたい大切なエース候補生のひとつです。

真柏購入

こちらも成勝園で購入したシンパク（写真2枚目左）。

以前から盆栽といえばシンパクのイメージがあったので、近所の骨董屋で500円で転がってたものを即購入（写真2枚目右）したものの、杉葉が多くしばらくは触れないものだった為、他に良い素材はないかと探していたところ、平尾さんが以前デモンストレーションで使う予定だったものが一つあるとのことで、恐れ多くも購入させていただきました。

骨董屋で購入したものに比べると、葉の色がかなり明るい黄緑色な印象で、これはもしや噂に聞く糸魚川なのか？どうかはわかりませんが、大切に育てたいと思います。
