#IsaiahGyamfi, a 2-year old boy from #Ghana, is getting international attention as a #childprodigy that knows how to count in at least 4 different #languages and how to solve complex #math problems. Isaiah started showing extraordinary intelligence at the age of five months, his mother Jazelle told Mirror. She said she noticed him enjoying learning one day when he was watching a video on her phone on YouTube and then she decided to put on a video about #Japanesenumbers. Jazelle said Isaiah listened to the video repeatedly until he could recite the numbers back to back. He learned to count up to 40 in #Japanese by himself in just less than 24 hours. When Isaiah was just 4-months old, Jazelle, who is an early childhood education teacher based in #London, already started creating a learning environment for him. She put numeracy and literacy flashcards in their living room so Isaiah could learn through visuals. Months passed by and #Isaiah had always been surprising both his parents when he pointed out the correct letters and eventually sound them out using phonics. He also practiced writing numbers and solving Math problems by himself. #Jazelle also noticed that her son enjoys learning different languages so she showed him a video in Spanish and gave him #Spanish flashcards. He now speaks several languages such as #English, Spanish, #French, #Italian, #Twi, #Yoruba, and Japanese. Jazelle began to capture Isaiah’s learning achievements and share videos in an Instagram account for Isaiah. Several people are amazed at how Isaiah is actually enjoying learning, as evident in the videos. Counting in japanese is really simple! After this short introduction you should be able to count to 99,999! There are kanji characters for numbers in japanese however you can just use normal numbers! 1         一     ichi 2         二     ni 3         三     san 4         四     yon/shi 5         五     go 6         六     roku 7         七     nana/shichi 8         八     hachi 9         九     kyuu/ku 10       十     juu 100     百     hyaku 1000   千     sen 10000 万     man Once you get to 11 you just add the single digit after the 10 for example 11 would be 十一 juu-ichi and 12 would be 十二 juu-ni. Once you get to 20 you simply add the unit before the 10 for example 20 would be二十 ni-juu and 21 would be 二十一 ni-juu-ichi. When you reach the 100's you can add units before to make them larger (200 二百 ni-hyaku) and you can add units afterwards for example 101 would be 百一hyaku-ichi, 201 would be 二百一 ni-hyaku-ichi and 222 would be 二百二十二 ni-hyaku-ni-juu-ni. There are a few numbers in the 100's that are changed so that they are easier to say: 300 is 三百 san-byaku 600 is 六百 roppyaku 800 is 八百 happyaku Now we'll move onto the 1000's which use exactly the same pattern as the 10's and 100's. Once again you can add units before to make the number larger (3000三千 san-sen) and units afterwards for example 1100 would be 千百 sen-hyaku, 2222 would be 二千二百二十二 ni-sen-ni-hyaku-ni-juu-ni and 1234 would be 千二百三十四 sen-ni-hyaku-san-juu-yon. Finally we can add thousands to the equation. Although with 1000 you just say sen and with 100 you just say hyaku when you say 10000 you say ichi-sen. So 10,001 would be 一万一 ichi-man-ichi, 10,100 would be 一万百 ichi-man-hyaku and 11,000 would be 一万千 ichi-man-sen. With all this information you should now be able to count to 99,999! 九万九千九百九十九 kyuu-man-kyuu-sen-kyuu-hyaku-kyuu-juu-kyuu.
