I'm always a little worried about making Jarchugadai too civilized. He has a feral soul and attitude, I think it would be unhealthy to just drop it all and merge with a crowd. Sure, he's a part of special forces swat, but that doesn't mean the job is going to get rid of his feral wants and needs. Yes, he knows how to sit, speak fluent English and behave, but he's always going to just do stuff like bring his husband a whole dead cicada that he found while fartin' around in the forest. Poor Ateus just holds and stares at this bug that Jar was super excited to find like '..... Thank you Jarchugadai it's wonderful, please go and put this in your bug jar.'

More Jar Lore; I found out that he's Afar/Ethiopian because of that one drawing trend where you use different irl photos to create your oc.

This is the most accurate drawing that I've made of this man to date. Ever. I Think I would now make his hair more curly. This would make sense...

Is he ... Ethiopian?

This Young man looks so much like him. It's uncanny, almost. I found this post from pinterest recently and it nearly gave me whiplash. According to the source, this man is Afar (plural 'Afars'), A 'Cushitic-speaking ethnic group inhabiting the horn of africa'. LINK from the actual image source on Flikr.

I'm typing this down as I figure this all out. Pray for me.

I'm scrolling though these images and now I'm kinda.... Sad? Melancholic? Like... Jar, That's you, and these look like people he'd know in his old life...?

I saw this young lady and her teeth immediately stood out. Wait wait wait, she has sharpened teeth too???? This isn't the first time that I've heard or seen of African or ethnic tribes people(s) having really unique features like this, so not a shocker. But to come across a group of people that he looks like and has the same features of is so exciting. It just makes sense.

I ran to google as soon as I saw this girl. Looked up "Afar ethiopian what does it mean when the teeth are sharpened"

I don't have any surviving art that I know of hidden somewhere that I could retrieve atm so I couldn't show my vision of his teeth, but it's almost always been some form of this:

This mixed with the way I was dressing this man for the longest time that I can't find again without tearing apart the apartment... I dunno. I have to admit though that the old wardrobe had stronger medieval European vibes then anything from Africa or any of it's tribal people.

He's always been a "foreign" man and was always a "foreign kid" who just grew up so differently then the rest of America that he never really assimilated into common society all that well. Not that he likes Americans all that much, anyway. Despite this, there are people out there that happen to love Jar. He's still a wild thing, even after 19-ish years away from his family and friends. He's a quiet standoffish thing that's cold on the outside and lukewarm ion the inside. He's got a husband (he's bisexual) and a daughter so... maybe he's not as cold hearted as he seems. To everyone else tho he's an 'odd' man with an 'odd' way of going through life- because everyone he's been around so far is HWhiteTM, westernized, and blander then hospital food.

But adult Jar seems content with what he has at the moment. He gets to keep the old ways alive and teach them to Mercy while adapting as much as he can to this odd 'new' world around him.
