Watching ep 1 of Franklin and bash, 15 mins in...i ship them lol

I know this is pretty much a dead fandom but i recently rewatched Franklin and Bash. Is it unabashedly sexist? Yup. Is it the worst example of our actual legal system? Probably. Is it terrible to their secondary POC? Oh yeah.

But what it does have is one of my favorite bromances on cable. Jared and Peter were childhood best friends that decided to both go into law, be partners, and live together. They always check in with each other when they know the other is dealing with a touchy subject (jareds daddy issues and peters ex’s). Rarely argue with each other, and always have each others back. And they support their crazy endeavors and ideas.

But my favorite part is that jared used to be taller than peter when they were about 10 and looked out for him, and they’ve just kind of stayed in that dynamic even though now peter could probably bench press jared. For example, there was a surfer that knocked peter off his board and peter was going to confront him but Jareds like, nah man let me talk to him and peter was like yeah, get him! And their whole courtroom gimmick was jareds idea that peter was afraid to do but did it anyways.

Honestly, if you got rid of the babes they’re always around and the blatant objectification they do all the time, they’d be A+ characters. Jared has this avoidant-because-he’s-sad jokester vibe and peter is a himbo. And I’m actually kind of sad that they weren’t better explored.
