Jarnate headcanons: how it happened

-Nate and Jay hang out quite a bit during the school year

-Nate feels guilty about what happened with Leia but doesn’t know how to tell Jay

-He doesn’t have feelings for Leia, but for Jay, and Leia happened to be the first person he told

-the almost kiss just…happens

-everyone does end up finding out, leading to a big falling out

-Jay feels hurt about it, but not because of Leia, because of Nate

-Nate tried to talk to him and explain things, but Jay just…doesn’t want to hear it

-at this point, Nate still thinks Jay still wants Leia

-Jay tried hooking up with other people to get over Nate, because he thinks that Nate wants Leia

-Nate gets jealous and hurt because he wants Jay

-Nate ends up blurting it out during a fight with Jay and then they end up sleeping together

-from there on, they’re a very affectionate couple (instead of bro-ing each other, they keep saying ‘babe’ ‘babe’)

-here’s where Sarah comes in the mix

-Nate and Sarah start talking in the library one day, leading to them becoming friends

-they go out in the park together, Sarah would be a huge supporter at his football games, Nate would be a huge supporter at her dancing performances, etc.

-Jay gets slightly jealous, but Nate assures him that he has nothing to worry about

-But inside, Nate feels guilty because he wants Sarah too just as much as he wants Jay

-Sarah also has feelings for him but knows Jay and Nate are dating, so she doesn’t say anything

-one day, Jay sees Nate and Sarah hanging out and laughing, leading to a ‘jealous!jay’ confrontation

-Nate, in his shitty Kelso way of explaining things, reveals that he does want to be with Jay but also Sarah as well

-Sarah ends up proposing that Nate can date both her and Jay

-Jay and Nate are a little wary at first but go through with it

-in college and after, they end up living together just like Rachel, Eric, and Jack from boy meets world
