The real Jason Morgan???

If anyone had told me back in 2012 this time I'd be in favor of someone else playing Jason, I would have slapped them silly and called them a liar. But here I am 5 years later hoping and praying that Billy Miller remains Jason Morgan. And it's not because I think Billy Miller is a better Jason or even that he has more chemistry with Kelly, and make NO mistake, whether Jason turns out to be Billy or Steve I will now and forever remain a diehearted Jasam fan! It's just that at this point in the storytelling I like where Jasam is at and I don't want to see that balance disrupted. I like the freedom the writers have to write certain scenes (particularly sex scenes) with Billy as Jason, I may be wrong, this is just my opinion but I feel like Steve wasn't comfortable with certain things, him being married and all. As a person who is married i can definitely respect that but, I prefer the way its done with Billy and Kelly for entertainment purposes. When i watch Jasam, I don’t see Steve or Billy and Kelly, I see Jason and Sam and this is what i like to see.

All Sexiness aside though, I think with the exception of his face and if it is to be done right Steve as Jason is going to be a tough sell. Aside from what i’ve written before my reason is this:

Danny - Danny kept running to Jake Doe. When his face was wrapped up from surgery, again in the hospital hallway and a bunch of other times. Danny felt the connection, and it had nothing to do with his face. Once his face was all wrapped up and the other times he had a totally different face all together but Danny was just drawn to him because he felt the connection a connection he was too young to understand and could hardly explain so he just kept running, running into his daddy’s arms.

And Although Daddy was in a coma and hadn’t the faintest idea of his own name, his vitals improved at the touch of his son’s hand.

Mrs Yee - It is believed that Chinese, Asians on a whole connect on a more spiritual level , they look beyond the outer layers and see your soul. And Mrs Yee was convinced that Jake was Jason, she recognized his soul, his spirit. And one might argue that her eyesight was going but it wasn’t gone. And she didn’t just see Jason, she felt him too.

Not long before Mrs Yee called Jake Jason, Sonny at death’s door saw his friend show up yet again to save his life. Spinelli saw him from behind and called him Jason and he and Carly became the fasted of friends. Jason hates Franco, Drew and Franco grew as kids together but some how Jake doe Having now memory or knowledge of who Franco is just hate him on instinct. All these people in Jason’s life were in Jake does life, well for the most part, Sonny had his issues cause he’s naturally suspicious and Jake Doe and Carly were close. But Carly unlike Sonny went off what she felt. Sonny went off what he saw, which was a strange guy getting close to the people in his family. Carly recognized something in Jake that she’d been missing ever since she lost Jason.

As for Sam, she and Jason has always been loyal to a fault and they were too busy being loyal to the wrong people to see what was staring them in the face, they were connected and they belonged together. Danny wasn’t the only one who felt a connection with Jake Doe in the hospital room that day, She felt it too and in the hallway when Danny grabbed Jake’s leg, the look in her eyes when their eyes met was nothing short of, I know you, my heart knows your heart and our souls are connected.

If this is some elaborate plot designed to hurt Sam, I can’t see it. And we all know  when the words plot and hurt are used in a statement about Sam our minds run straight for Helena. But i can’t see even Helena drumming this up, what would be her endgame? That Sam would be deliriously happy? Or she would be happy and then haunted by the though of being happy with her husband’s replacement while he fought to come home. That doesn’t make sense either because Patient 6 was being held against his will so what were they waiting for?

Everything is designed to make Billy look like the imposter, Patient 6 face, his fighting Skills, time frame aligned, (he missed 5 years) he called Sonny and Sam and he has memories. But Billy has Memories too and if you ask me, his fight skills are on point, so until i have reason not to, I’m going to keep hoping. Hoping that the writers see that Steve served us well with Mob enforcer, Stone Cold, ride or die Jason but Billy is taking us into the future with a Jason that chooses his family. And not give up his son to be raised by another man who ended up abandoning him in the long run. A man who see’s the value in life and the joy in raising his family. Making Steve Burton Jason is going to have a lot of people expecting things to be as they were and i  believe the characters have matured and evolved past all that.

Is it just me? Or does JaSam seem to be drowning in Giant piles of messes, none of which is of their own making by the way. When its not one thing it’s the next, ever since they got together. Even before they got together, there was the  obstacle in the form of a whiny two-faced hypocrite. Then there was the fact that Jason had no memory and they were working together to help him get it back, there was Jake’s mental issues, there was Nikolas and all his bullshit and Jason being accused of his “murder.” All that gets resolved, Sam finds out she’s pregnant and another Happy Jasam moment is overshadowed by something dark and heavy.

When it was Danny, it was the fact that he could be Franco (considering they didn’t know then what they know now) and with this baby its a malaria threat, with the side effects being low birth weight and possible stillbirth and we can only imagine how freaked Sam must have been seeing as though she has experience with stillbirth. I commend them on the swift resolution of that storyline but i still would have preferred if they could have one happy moment that wasn’t overshadowed by something dark or grim. Which brings me to there wedding, such a beautiful ceremony it actual gave me ideas about my impending nuptials. Their vows were perfect, all the important people in there lives were there (Minus Monica) people who loved them and wished them well. You would think after all the ups and down and constant curve balls, that they would let them have this day but that too was tainted, another moment ruined by Franco. I mean what was Jason to do? He wasn’t a doctor, that was to be Jason Quartermaine’s Destiny and he’s long been dead, So Jason could have found out the next day, let them have their wedding night. But not only did they not get a wedding night they didn’t even get a honeymoon, why? Because they are knee deep in other people’s shit.

Morgan’s Dead. So of course Jason has to be there to hold Carly’s hand and prove Sonny’s innocence whilst also making sure he doesn’t put a gun to his head. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be there for there friends and family but i just don’t want to see them all consumed by other people’s problems. Sam collapsed and had to be hospitalized because of stressed and the very next day she was out confronting some mob dude from her dad’s organizationll in the name of proving Sonny’s innocence, the opposite of what the doctor’s ordered. Raise your hand if you’re tired of all this bullshit and want to just see Jasam live their lives taking care of each other and there kids. Let them be selfish for a change, lord knows they’ve done enough selfless deeds to last a lifetime!
