I miss the old GH storylines like the Metro Court Hostage Crisis, the Black & White Ball, the train crash. Exciting stuff like when Sam was shot in Jason’s arms or when Ric locked Carly in the panic room planning to snatch Morgan once she gave birth to him, and then Liz found her and fainted because Ric had been dosing her drinks with birth control. Where are the mob wars? Where’s the hospital drama? We barely see the locker room, and I don’t recall the last time we saw the ER triage.
Like why are today’s storylines watered down PSAs more than half the time? Why are the new characters introduced in ways that instantly make us hate them? Why did I have to watch Liz complain about her itchy crusty eye and then get prescribed something pushed by big pharma?
Why do we have yet another secret twin storyline? There’s been so many secret and/or evil twin storylines in my lifetime:
Luis/Lorenzo
Anna/Alex
Kevin/Ryan
Emily/Rebecca
Manny/Mateo
Nathan/Cassius
Jason/Drew
Nell/Willow
The plausibility of that many sets of twins being separated at birth all over the world and reunited or taking over a dead sibling’s life in the same city is just not there. I can no longer suspend my disbelief when it comes to twins in this world.
Why are the poc specifically black characters getting such shitty storylines that borderline make no sense? They mostly only interact with each other and they’re always fighting.
I really need 911 to not do to Buck, what General Hospital did to Sam McCall.
Sam McCall was a character who had a lot of issues and struggles through her life. She was treated badly by people who were supposed to love her, she did a lot of bad things, made bad choices, but eventually changed herself and managed to turn her life around.
She changed herself for the better, found someone to love, built friendships for herself, built a business for herself, became a Mom, which was something she had wanted for a long time. There had been a few years where she was told she couldn't have kids, after losing her first child, a daughter, and it hurt her pretty bad.
Eventually she had kids, found love again with a few different men, but somehow the relationships were always ruined when she was just really getting to enjoy loving those men.
Her relationship with Jason was ruined because he was temporarily killed off as his actor wanted to leave. Her relationship with Patrick was ruined because Robin, Patrick's wife, who everyone thought was dead, ended up not being dead, and they reunited and Patrick left, and Sam was left in the dust.
Sam dated Lucky, who eventually dumped her to go back to Liz's horrible ass. And then she finally finds love, stability, respect, and a family, with Dante, all for it to crash and burn because the show fired the actress and killed Sam off. Sam was in love with Dante, had a family with her two children and loved Dante's son Rocco. She finally had gotten everything she ever wanted, and then they killed her.
It makes me SO fucking mad. PLEASE, 911, DON'T do this to Buck! If you FINALLY give him everything he's ever wanted and then kill him off, I will LOSE MY SHIT!!!!!
The best and worst of General Hospital's 2025, from Lucky's hasty exit to the emotional farewell to Monica Quartermaine.
Biggest Tearjerker - Monica's Death - So many beautiful heartfelt moments. Steve Burton and Jane Elliot brought down the house with their real grief. You felt every scene. You can find Monica's funeral here. I have some scenes with Ronnie ( Erika Slezak ) here .
Best Reveal - Gio's Parentage
"In 2024, when GH started dropping the not-so-subtle anvils that Gio was the retcon son of Brook Lynn and Dante, we weren’t sold on the idea of yet another surprise offspring in the Corinthos/Quartermaine sphere. But boy, did the show pay it off when it came time for the truth to finally come tumbling out. The big reveal was set up for maximum dramatic impact, affecting not only Gio, Brook Lynn and Dante, but their extended families. The spark was Lulu putting the pieces together that her longtime rival Brook Lynn had secretly given birth to Dante’s baby as a teenager, ultimately leading to her discovering — before Brook Lynn — that said baby grew up to be Gio. She confronted Lois, who had placed her grandson with family friends behind Brook Lynn’s back, at the Nurses’ Ball — and Gio overheard. In a star-making performance by Giovanni Mazza, he took to the stage and sarcastically dedicated his performance to his parents, Brook Lynn and Dante: “Two people who didn’t want me. Who didn’t claim me. They gave me away and have been lying to me my entire life!” He then smashed his violin on the floor and stormed off, leaving Dante staring at Brook Lynn like wha-a-at? as a single tear ran down her face. In the rich aftermath, so many dynamics changed — Brook Lynn found out Lois had lied to her, Dante found out Brook Lynn had lied to him, and Gio found out just how much he could count on Emma. GH really stuck the landing here, and the results were mesmerizing."
Most of my Dante gifs after Sam's death cover this. You can find the actual reveal and fallout HERE.
Best Recast - Rory Gibson as Michael - GH nailed this recast. Rory has given Michael an edge and layers that he never had before. It is a joy to watch him on screen.
You can find Michael & Dante scenes HERE. I only have from the custody battle forward. I'm tempted to post more.
"All in all, Gibson perfectly embodies Michael’s broody straddling of the Corinthos and Quartermaine worlds, fitting in seamlessly as the golden child of both families whose life has been anything but golden."
Best Umbrella Storyline - Who Shot Drew - This storyline is still paying off dividends. I have a feeling though that the writers will drag it out into the new year. Hopefully we'll get some answers soon.
You can find Dante's part of the investigation HERE. Please note that there are currently 18 pages so far. It is in reverse order. I still haven't figured out how to fix that other than changing all the time stamps.
Worst Return - Nathan - SOD said there was no zing. I think they're building it up with the connection between Nathan and Lulu. The storyline is starting to unfold. Might be more in the new year.
I love that Dante has his best friend back. You can find Nathan return HERE.
Personally I would say that Britt's return was worse because of how she treated Dante and Lulu at the hospital. JMO.
Worst Storyline Payoff - Joss killing Cyrus
"Admirers of Josslyn Jacks and/or Dex Heller got to see Carly’s headstrong daughter avenge the death of her police officer by shooting his killer just as she got proof that he was going around murdering people with Digitalis, and Brennan “helpfully” got the crime scene cleaned up, kicking off her new Alias-inspired arc as a college student by day, WSB agent by night. But, with all due respect to the amiable Dex, it was not his demise that fans were clamouring to see avenged — not when Cyrus killed freaking Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), one of the show’s longest-running and most popular heroines, whose ties to the canvas were far deeper and more plentiful. When Sam was so brutally murdered in 2024 by the devious Renault, she left behind two grieving children (Scout and Danny), a mother (Alexis), siblings (Kristina, Lucas and Molly), a fiancé (Dante), a former partner in supercoupledom (Jason) and a legion of outraged and upset fans. How Cyrus got his comeuppance — which is to say, without Alexis, Dante and/or Jason’s direct involvement — robbed fans of seeing moments that would have brought a better measure of emotional satisfaction and closure. Because Brennan disposed of the body, Cyrus is technically only still “missing” in the eyes of most of Sam’s loved ones, so they don’t even get the benefit of knowing that he met a violent end at the hands of someone who had also suffered a great loss via his murderous actions. Elsewhere, Laura and Martin skate over the fact that their lunatic brother just disappeared when they should be scared he might resurface and hurt someone else. Our dream 2026 story? Trina finds the hospital wristbands (that had belonged to Cyrus’s victims) in Joss’s drawer and innocently takes them to the police, blowing Joss and Brennan’s involvement in Cyrus’s death wide open."
"a fiancé (Dante)" 💔💍
"A legion of upset and outraged fans." Flashback to our "I Stand With Kelly" campaign. Here is the billboard in Times Square.
Feel free to use just give me (Linda) the credit for the animation if you use elsewhere…thanks
PLEASE dont use my animations to make other animations or banners with it. I work hard on my animations and I dont want people to use them to make other fanarts
Does Danny know that the same thing happened to him?!?! He was raised by Tea Delgado for the first few months of his life and why hasn’t Jason said anything or is acting like that didn’t happen? Maybe the writers are waiting it out to do it later but it’s still weird.
I read a good theory that Cyrus poisoned an IV bag he thought would be for Lulu, and that's how Sam died.
I still don't like them killing Sam, but one thing I do want to give the writers and the actor credit for is that it's very clear Dante is not going to get together with Lulu after a few months of mourning. That guy has too much guilt.
Somebody needs to give Sasha a Plan B. I think they're going to do a surprise pregnancy story, because it's not like she can sleep with Cody and say the baby is his. I hate it. I really like Sasha/Cody.
