A Leading Role in “The Boy in the Woods” for RA
We have wished for a period piece, and I suppose The Boy in the Woods is such. Deadline names Richard as one of the leads in their article, accompanied by a first glimpse of Richard in the role of farmer Jasko. I’m having visions of John Proctor… maybe Richard can draw back on his 7-hour axe-sharpening again for the role. Brrr, they are filming in Canada now – and winter is coming 🥶. I hope he…

Okay so hear me out: A Geraskier Much Ado About Nothing AU
( @a-kind-of-merry-war based on your url this might interest you?)
There are just so many possibilities. But like, Jaskier as Benedick and Geralt as Beatrice.
They are both really sassy when they want to be. Geralt has no problem roasting Jaskier and Jaskier can be petty as fuck.
So maybe Geralt doesn’t like Jaskier cause of his fickle heart: “Who is his companion now? He hath every month a new sworn [lover]” and “He wears his faith but as the fashion of his hat; it ever changes with the next block.”
And maybe Geralt insulted Jaskier’s singing in the past which is why he doesn’t like Geralt?
Jaskier: *talks endlessly about how pretty “Hero” (whoever that will be) is*
Geralt: I wonder that you will still be talking, bard; Nobody marks you.
Jaskier: What, my dear [Mister] Disdain! Are you yet living?
Lambert, Eskel, Priscilla and Essi are so done with their bullshit (and they totally ship it) that they do the thing to make them realise they love each other.
Geralt feels bad for being so harsh with Jaskier all the time, like Beatrice is with Benedick.
And Jaskier’s reaction to falling in love with Geralt is obviously to write bad poetry like “Marry, I cannot show it in rhyme. I have tried. I can find out no rhyme to “[witcher] ” but “[bitcher] ”—an [insulting] rhyme; for “scorn,” “horn”—a hard rhyme” (btw is that an innuendo? “horn” and “hard” is totally up Jaskier’s alley. And knowing Shakespeare, it absolutely is meant to be an innuendo)
So maybe Essi is Hero cause in the books Geralt and her were close (yeah, I know it was different) and Valdo Marx is Claudio cause fuck Claudio and Fuck Valdo Marx. That would also be really interesting, cause it would mean that at first, he and Jaskier are good friends and it would give him a great reason to hate Marx later on. And of course, it would give us this:
Jaskier: come; bid me do anything for thee.
Geralt: Kill Valdo Marx.
Why would Geralt not kill Valdo himself? Idk maybe some witcher code about not killing humans, but Jaskier as a noble could challenge him to a duel easily.
Or you could just say fuck it and make the whole thing Valdo Marx/Jaskier instead
