TLH Trio Headcanon where Leo does all of their nails
Piper doesn't know anything about cuticle care and never really cared much about it because she isn' t a big fan of stereotypical feminine stuff while Jason knows even less than her.
But Leo knows a lot of miscellaneous skills because of foster care and painting nails is one of them.
It's a great way to keep his hands busy, so whenever he, Jason, and Piper have sleepovers, instead of mindlessly fiddling with a random piece of scrap metal, he just paints the their nails.
They are only making this reboot now because the first season of PJO will drop soon and they are afraid that it will be more popular than Harry Potter(which, let’s be real it is). It is constructed and written waaay better than the the wizarding world.
This is only fear of what the success of the work of Rick Riordan will do for their franchise.
The only reason they aren’t as popular is because it never got an actual good adaption, while the Harry Potter movies were a huge success and brought to its overall popularity.
Ok I don’t know how to respond to coments here so I guess I’m gonna do it like this.
This isn’t about JKR’s politics, I don’t give a shit about that right now. I’m just mad that the only reason why they’re remaking the already adapted story instead of adapting something else from the same universe that already has a fanbase(marauders, the founding of Hogwarts, the cursed child era, the gaunt family, the black family, the three brothers maybe, Tom Riddle’s era…)
PJO ISN’T more popular than HP because it DIDN’T have the adaptations that HP did. If PJO got a good adaptation from the beginning, like HP did then yes it would have been more popular.
I’m not saying that it is now, I’m saying that it has the potential to be.
But it isn’t, because it didn’t get a decent adaptation.
if there's one thing i love (and hate) about rick riordan's writing, it's that he doesn't always give everyone happy endings
**beware, spoilers for the burning maze follow this wonderful cut**
in fiction, we almost always see main characters come together and then we assume they stay together, right? for percy and annabeth, that much is a given. if you know me, you know that i love lockwood and co by jonathan stroud, and it's implied that lockwood and lucy get into a relationship after the final book - and we all assume that they stay together, right?
almost every fictional couple i can think of - and i mean teenage ones, from middle grade/young adult books - have a happily ever after.
but rick doesn't do that, and i so so appreciate that.
although jason and piper's breakup is so hard for me as a long-time jiper fan to accept, it was so necessary. because how often do we see fictional couples break up? no matter how good a relationship is, it might not last. and rick wrote that. and it broke my heart, but at the same time healed it.
i mean, growing up, i adored percabeth and they essentially set my standards, as they did for many people. but not every relationship is percabeth (as piper said in tbm, which i found quite funny lol). as a young girl, breakups made me think i was unloveable or that there was something wrong with me, because if book characters could get together and stay together, why couldn’t i? (ignoring the fact that i was a literal pre teen in school)
the burning maze is a more recent book, but i was still in my early teens when it came out. i was the biggest jiper shipper ever, so i was utterly heartbroken, but it made me realise that breakups happen to even the relationships we think are the best, or ones that seem pretty stable and healthy. (ofc their relationship was built on lies made by Hera for the sake of the lost hero, but the point is that they had been a stable couple pretty much for the rest of that series)
it's so so important, in my opinion, that we see this in younger books. not every relationship will end well, no matter how good it is. and i know that this seems like a pretty basic take, something most people know, but for 13 year old eden who had gone through her biggest and worst breakup just shortly before this book came out (funnily enough the guy looked like jason and we both loved pjo) it helped me come to terms with the fact that not every relationship is a percabeth relationship. some are jiper, and that's okay.
I’m an absolute sucker for outside POV and while I’m not complaining most of them are centred around Percy in school or out in NYC etc when there’s a fantastic opportunity for one Will Solace to show off his own talents.
Give me Will Solace in his first year of medical school inexplicably having wayyyy too much experience with surgeries, emergencies medicine and really serious wounds etc.
This Texas kid who has just shown up out of seemingly nowhere does not bat an eye when people come in with the most gruesome injuries the senior doctors have ever seen. While the rest of the juniors are being ushered out before they throw up or feint Will’s just standing there like normal Tuesday, how can I help :)
He quickly gets nicknamed ‘golden boy’ by peers and mentors alike for 2 reasons. The first is Will is just really freaking easy to find. There’s not a whole lot of honey blond, over 6 foot, tanned, muscled and southern residents wondering around the hospital who can look that good in scrubs.
The second is he is just genuinely the best they have ever seen. Will’s stitches are immaculate, his manner with patients soothes them instantly and he’s basically unflappable under pressure; He excels in emergency situations, completely comfortable in his own natural authority and the people he’s supposed to be learning from completely forget he’s technically only in his first year.
I just want to see a little outside appreciation for Will Solace, who has effectively been running his own hospital for years.
