First , do you need any roles in particular ? second , how does the request character thing work exactly ? aaand could you give me some prompt ideas for the writing sample ? I like to give an IC sample in my apps. and are you accepting today ?
I’ve decided to make this post public since it may be useful for anyone looking to apply, but if you want me to take it down then I will.
Currently, this is how many of each role we have:
Agriculture - I
Cook - II
Education - III
Hunter - II
Mechanic - II
Medical - II
Security - I
Supply runners - I
Radio operator - II
Filling up the ones who have the fewest numbers would be ideal, but it really depends on what kind of person your character will be and what kind of job would be suitable for them.
As for the character connection form, it’s made for our members to request a connection for their character. For example, if Person A had a sister they lost during the start of the apocalypse, they could submit a character request form for someone to create their sister. Of course, it would require a lot of planning between the existing character and the person wanting to make the connection beforehand but it’s a good source of plot and development for everyone involved.
Finally, here are a list of prompts that you could consider for your writing sample:
Your character is lost, wandering through an abandoned town and trying desperately to find somewhere safe before sunset in a neighbourhood that is scattered with mutants and the houses don’t look particularly sturdy.
Your character is in a supermarket which luckily hasn’t been looted. Gathering supplies, your character hears a noise in the back of the store and decides to check it out. The source of the noise is up to you, whether it be from a human or a mutant.
Your character sees one of the special mutants (Brains, Crawlers, Brutes) for the first time.
Your character sees someone getting chased by a group of mutants. You may choose whether they ignore it or try to help.
Your character has a disturbing nightmare which makes them wake up in a sweat during the middle of the night. Simple but effective, this can give you room to explore your character’s vulnerable side and let us to see how they deal with it.
