Been a long time, but it was good to be back out and watching a movie at the cinema!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back from watching #BlackWidow, the 1st movie in #MarvelStudios' #MCU Phase 4, and really enjoyed it!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Set just after 'Captain America Civil War', the movie is more super spy than super hero, and more along the lines of #CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier than typical MCU fare and is better for it, as an introdution into the new era of #Marvel movies, I thought, even though it could be considered a flashback movie, what with events in #AvengersEndgame.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #JamesBond / #JasonBourne style action with plenty of thrills, spills, laughs and emotional beats to stay entertained. The action set pieces were pretty good, ramping up the intensity, especially towards the end. #DavidHarbour's #RedGuardian and #FlorencePugh's #YelenaBelova provide much of the aforementioned laughs, mostly with quippy one liners, offsetting some of the serious tone, themes and intense action, as #NatashaRomanoff and Yelena confront their past and deal with their future.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Definitely worth a watch, whether it's a trip to your local movie theatre (remember to still wear a mask etc), or on D+. Black Widow in her own standalone movie was worth the wait!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And of course, stay until the end for the obligatory end credits scene that sets up a future MCU project.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #InstaMovieReview https://www.instagram.com/p/CRKaJs9Ak-h/?utm_medium=tumblr
