Meyer/Charlie! (I mean, come on)
yeeeeEEEEEEEES GOOD
who throws things in a fight?Charlie is more likely to throw things, because if Meyer is angry enough to get physical, it’s gonna go the fistfight route, not the property damage route.
who goes to their parent’s house for a weekend when things get bad?god, neither of them. Meyer’s more likely to find somewhere else to stay, but neither of them would ever go to their parents’ places for an extended stay because of relationship issues.
who wants to have children? who doesn’t? if both do, how do their goals differentiate?Charlie absolutely does not want kids ever at all in any ‘verse end of story. Meyer, on the other hand… it depends on if we’re talking canon or modern AU, because Meyer wanting a family is more due to societal pressures and expectations than any real DESIRE to be a father. so in canon, there has never been any question in Meyer’s mind that he is going to get married and have children, and when he has them he is as good a parent as he is capable of being. in a modern AU, though, where the societal expectations re: having a nuclear family are a little less intense, and—this is important—where he and Charlie can openly be together without significant threat to their wellbeing, he doesn’t want kids the same way he does in canon, and I would be lying if I said that part of why he’s not as insistent on it is because there’s no way for him and Charlie to reproduce, and he’s not interested in adoption or surrogates. He’s not OPPOSED to the idea, in a theoretical universe where he and Charlie could have a kid they’re the biological parents of, but he’s also a. less likely to think of having children as a prerequisite for Fulfilling The American Dream the way I think he does in canon, and b. smart enough to realize there is really no world in which he and Charlie should be responsible for another human being’s development.
who is more adverse to physical contact?absolutely Meyer. most of the time he’s okay with how handsy Charlie is, but there are days where he just does not want to be touched at all. a lot of it is wrapped up in a confusing clusterfuck of wanting contact but not knowing how to accept it when it happens and stuff like that.
who hates/dislikes their neighbors the most?I can see them both not being a fan of their neighbors, but Charlie is more likely to be vocal about hating anyone who lives near them.
who hates/dislikes their significant other’s family?he doesn't hate them, but Charlie’s family can be A LOT for Meyer to deal with for extended periods of time. and he DOES straight up loathe Antonio, once he’s seen how being around him affect’s Charlie’s behavior/mood, even if Charlie never outright says what went down there.
who is most likely to leave when things get rough?Meyer, like I said. he always comes back, but where Charlie lashes out when he’s angry/hurt, Meyer pulls back, and that includes physically. Meyer also needs processing time whenever something unexpected/unplanned-for happens, and sometimes that requires physical distance from the situation as well.
who thinks their partner turned out a different person than they thought?neither of them, really. they’ve known each other long enough before they got together, and have such an in-depth understanding of each other, that they’re very rarely caught off guard by who the other is.
who is more likely to cheat? C H A R L I E. in canon, Charlie fucks around CONSTANTLY, both as a result of wanting sex more than Meyer and because keeping up his appearance as a Straight Man TM is relevant to his survival/standing within the Sicilian mob culture. in a modern AU, though, where, again, they can be together openly, Charlie doesn’t need to keep that image up so he’s less likely to step out. which is good, because all versions of modern AU Meyer would skin Charlie alive if he cheated.
who is the more experienced (sexually or otherwise)?Charlie’s definitely more experienced sexually; he’s four years older and has a MUCH higher sex drive than Meyer does, there is literally no way he hasn’t had sex more times and with more people than Meyer has by the time they get together [though how many of them were other men is a different question; aside from HF, which is not exactly the best experience to have had, I don’t know that he’d have risked it before Meyer]. plus, I honestly kind of lean towards Meyer having had NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever before they got together, because I am so fucking weak for experience differentials. in terms of relationships, neither of them have had anything resembling a long-term relationship before each other, so they’re on even footing there. with crime stuff they’re also equally experienced, but in different arenas: Charlie’s got more burglaries under his belt compared to Meyer’s car thefts, and Meyer’s never touched drug dealing whereas Charlie is just as unpracticed managing kill contracts. obviously no one has any experience with bootlegging until Prohibition begins so they’re on the same playing field once that starts too.
who hates/dislikes their significant other’s friends?it’s the same kind of thing as Charlie’s family: Meyer doesn’t dislike most of Charlie’s Italian friends, but they can be a lot to handle. and like the family situation, there are also some people in Charlie’s circle he genuinely loathes; making any kind of antisemitic comment once has earned plenty of them spots on his shitlist.
who wants to go to social gatherings the most?Charlie’s the social butterfly between the two of them and goes to glitzy celebrity/politician fêtes as often as he can get away with with minimal media attention. he doesn’t mind going alone, but Meyer will occasionally make an appearance, though he does prefer to stay as far out of the limelight as possible. in AUs where they’re openly together, he goes with Charlie more often just to remind anyone who might show interest that they’re SOL.
who is most likely to be dishonest?they both lie through their teeth for a living, but they try not to lie to each other. Meyer especially doesn’t like lying to the people he cares about, but he is absolutely not above lies of omission or misdirection or half-truths and probably goes that route more than Charlie does.
who is more emotionally closed off and how does this affect their partner?MEYER. they both have issues opening up, but it’s worse for Meyer. Charlie is usually okay at handling it, given that the two of them understand each other so well, but it definitely causes friction more often than either of them would like to admit.
who is the dessert person?they both have something of a sweet tooth, but Charlie is absolutely the one who’s like “YES BRING THE DESSERT MENU” before the waiter even opens his mouth to ask after every single meal.
who is more conservative?in all ways other than political, Meyer. politically, I don’t know that either of them can be described as conservative so much as apathetic; Charlie doesn’t vote except to back whatever candidate the Commission/Family has in its pocket, and Meyer’s interest in politics is a little more genuine, but both of their fiscal policies are “I pay some of my taxes, leave me the fuck alone.” and I think, of the two of them, Charlie is more likely to lean conservative on social issues, but out of a “why the fuck do we need a law for that?” kind of apathy, whereas Meyer is 100% aware, due to personal experience, that social injustices doesn’t just stop, you need legal prohibitions against it and for those to be enforced.
who hates/dislikes oral sex?Meyer doesn’t like performing oral. He doesn’t mind receiving, especially since Charlie really genuinely loves giving head and anything that makes Charlie happy is usually at least tolerable, but to say the least he does not share the sentiment and would usually prefer to get Charlie off literally any other way.
