the zuke blog: I thought it was most likely real because of how the blog was run. that blog was being kept as private as possible (so no attention) and they had a lot of posts that were not about su or lapidot (why would a troll make a bunch of trolls about their other interests? why make a bunch of depression/dysphoria posts?) you're looking at months of fake blogging, with no attention, rarely even about what you're trying to discredit, all to smear one person? would probably bore most trolls
(2) another red flag for me was the "lol I was so convincing even the crew is paranoid about getting their personals hacked!" (why would they fear for their privacy if it was a "convincing fake" especially when they probably know what went down more than anyone else) and the "motivation" in their confession made no sense. they pretended to be zuke because they liked their episodes? and then they kept it going out of spite? (while it was kept private as possible and posted a bunch of non-su stuff?)
(3) and not that it means anything, but the writing style in the confession sounds nothing like the blog or zuke. not saying the evidence for the blog is sketchy or w/e (anyone can make fake screenshots and edit them) but imo the arguments AGAINST the blog being real are filled with so many holes it becomes very, very unlikely that it's fake.
oh yeah. there’s just so much stuff that becomes impossible to fake. and the fact that the “roleplayer” just HAD to delete the blog and then reclaim the URL — nah, if it was really fake posts, they would’ve left the fake posts up. there was no reason to delete.
and just the way that the “confession” post was structured, saying that they at first liked zuke’s eps and then realized she was forcing her ships, it basically sounds like a poor, villainized transcript of amedot rhetoric. add a handful of ableism (mocking triggers), misandry (”one of the only men left on the show lol”), and general unpleasantness (”i wouldn’t mind it if i’d gotten the crew to all hate zuke”) and you have a hateable character. it’s like they took all the gross parts of the SU fandom and put them in a blender.
the person who stole lauren’s url WANTED people to hate them. because hating them --> hating the argument --> hating the amedot-specific rhetoric --> discrediting amedot arguments that the ship episodes were forced --> discrediting any IDEA that lauren could ever be petty or self-serving.
i’m gonna admit, it was a genius idea. but it wasn’t subtle and it’s got more holes than swiss cheese. thanks for this.
