Oh my god i just had a brutal realisation/headcannon:

Maybe Libber died due to her powers. So Cliff Gordon was the one who might have left Jay at the junkyard, far far far from Libber’s legacy so Jay could stay safe.

Maybe Cliff never made it official that he was married and had the whole book on ‘how to woo women’ just to cover up he was ever married to the old master of lightning to protect Jay from suffering the same fate as Libber
