Joining a fandom that you originally assumed was dead (or never imagined thereβd even be a fandom for) is like that trope in media where someone reaches out to some old village/civilization that was supposedly wiped out long ago or never even existed, not expecting a response, but then they really do get a response and find out that the people have been secretly thriving in like an underground bunker or something this whole time
