The Hanged Man is the card that suggests ultimate surrender, sacrifice, or being suspended in time.

i tragically don't have much commentary for this one. jay doe is the joker's human vessel, whose soul remains trapped in its "fun-house" while it pilots their body. previous to that, they were a nobody ACE chemicals floor worker with no friends and no sense of humor. they exist mostly as a tool of the narrative and less of a concrete character - establishing too much about them kind of undermines their place in the story. they're a mystery!
