Some amusement in my reread of The Dragonriders of Pern, is how many times can Anne include her friend as a character?

-in The Pegasus Trilogy: Pegasus in Flight and Pegasus in Space has Johnny Greene, telepath and telekinetic who works with Peter and learns Peter's gestalt technique.

-The Freedom Quartet: Jay Greene befriends the main character after they're dropped on a planet to colonise it for their alien overlords. And winds up befriending and marrying another character she helped in an initial hike to find a safe place to reside.

-Dragonsdawn, one of the colonists is a Johnny Greene who helps the leadership when they're hit with their series of crises. The Chonicles of Pern: First Fall has a few short stories set during and just after the first pass, and one of the marines accompanying an investigation of what happened to the colony is a Sergeant Greene. He doesn't get a first name but I feel like she just felt like sneaking him in twice because she could.

I wonder if I ought to check my other series and short stories by her to see where else she wrote him in.
