can someone please explain to me why the friends i make on the internet who are thousands of miles away care more about me and mt wellbeing than the friends i made irl do/ever did??
like mind you online friends who ive soemtimes known for 2 months or so give me so much more love and support than friends who ive known for 2 years or more???
like ofc there are some exceptions (you know who you are 🥰😘) but like in general thats the case...
I've been seeing a lot of comments saying how Jack looks so good in dark shirt/clothing. We've seen it since season 1 but I dont think we realized how affective it was until we've seen him in his other (military) uniform.
There was a study done about this topic, so scientifically men do look more attractive in black/dark shirts, (and this is my belief) especially towards their spouses.
So I had this idea— now stay with me dont scroll just yet but think about this; you're his spouse (Mrs. Jack Abbot if you will), and you KNOW what color his scrubs are and it has never bothered you anytime he wore them, and yet whenever he comes back home wearing that one tshirt he always keeps as a spare in his trusty bag, some form of jealousy builds up inside you for some reason.
He is your husband, he has devoted his life to you, and yours to him, he never even glanced at another person like that, and you never question his loyalty because the trust goes deep and beyond... yet, that petty jealousy and possessiveness festers inside you.
So one day, you ask him not to take that stupid shirt that he looks stupidly attractive in it, to work. Maybe he should take another shirt that is a different color one. He pauses his movements when he hears you say that, then turns around to look at you with unreadable expression, you can feel the cogs turning inside his head.
You can't tell if its confusion or suspicion that he carries, but all in all it doesnt make any difference because not a second after he smirks. Gotcha.
You tried to make it like a casual conversation but he knew it right away, that something is up with you and for some reason he got it.
People have commented about his 'shirt' at work before. It wasn't a one time thing, he definitely recieved multiple comments from multiple people. And it was always that tshit, not the scrubs, because th scrubs were different case, those were work clothing. This tshirt was something magical.
He leans on the dresser, still wearing that smirk as if he caught you red handed thinking about something naughty. You're dumbfounded, you don't know if you should get bold and continue with your request or run away to hide your thoughts and feelings. But you do neither, you just stand there like a deer caught in headlights.
"Whats on your mind?" He asks, smile plastered on his face, teasing is gonna start now and you know he wont be gentle about it.
"Maybe... you should, you know... take that grey shirt that you got the other day from the mall."
"But this one fits better with scrubs-"
"I know, I know... I was just- you always wear that one shirt and i was thinking that, maye its a bit worn out and all- never mind! If you're comfortable with this one then you should take it." You try to end the conversation with a smile, try to leave the room before your face bursts from embarrassment, but he stops you by your hand before you turn.
"Hey, is something wrong?" Now he looks worried.
'Shit', now you feel guilty for making him worried.
You look at him, and he looks at you. Worry etched on his face, fuck... you regret even bringing this topic up. Its not a hard conversation to have, its natural to feel jealousy and have possessive tendency towards your spouse, everyone goes through it, yet you cannot voice your concerns to him. Because you know you'll get teased about it, and also, because you're not a confrontational person.
But right now, after looking at his expression, you decided to be one. Well, here goes nothing and everything including your pride.
"Whenever you wear that shirt... I uhh... you look different" did your voice sound this small normally?
"What kind of different?" Mischief lacing the word. Oh he wants you to say it. How cruel can he get.
"Differently.... attractive" you lower your head, close your eyes and say it. "And it makes me uncomfortable that other people get to see that too.....". Your voice is barely audible. Oh now you're in real trouble.
Slight "ah" Leaves his mouth as he now understands the issue fully. Without making you go through more torturous hoops, he tries to put you at ease.
"Sweetheart, you know I'm married to you right?" You don't answer, your try to hide your beat red face with embarrassment. "Look at me." And you cannot not listen to him when he uses the soft commanding voice.
He is smiling now. Not the teasing one, but it was genuine soft smile that he always gives you to reassure you whenever youre in doubt.
"I'm yours. I will always be yours. My beautiful wife that I cannot live without" you feel like crying now.
"And this-" he raises his left hand, showing you his ring. "Is proof that all this reserved for only one person" he finishes with the head gesture towards himself.
No matter how mischievous Jack can get, he always knows how to put you at ease.
"Still, I think you should wear the grey shirt– study shows that men look more attractive when they wear black shirts"
"Sweetheart, its okay to admit if you're jealous– and 'sides, my literal work clothing are black."
"First of all, I amm no jealous! I'm just possessive..."
"It's the same thing."
"No its not! And secondly, the scrubs are a different case, they dont count as clothing."
"Sure, whatever you say hon." He chuckles when he sees the look on your face as if he offended you.
You look too adorable when you do that that he cant help but plant his lips on your head. And he turns around to continue getting ready for work.
BONUS:
The next morning, a confused Robby is now standing next to the nurse staion when he spots Jack Abbot, wearing something different from the usual black shirt/attire. To normal people'a eyes, its something normal to see someone wear a different colored shirt, but in Robby's eyes, it was mind tripping.
