Nominated for an Emmy again for opening title sequence. I was really proud of all the title sequences we busted out for this show. Not even huge budget live action shows make so many per season!! 😂 This was one of my favorites, created for the “superhero” story arc. Original Cap'n Crunch animation cel. Jay Ward Studios (of Rocky & Bullwinkle fame) created these commercials from 1962 to 1983. I think these are either from the 1966 Maneater commercial or the 1974 All Us Sharks commercial but I can't find a reference to be for sure. I picked these up with a batch of Walter Lanz cels from the 60s, so I'm leaning towards the 1966 one. Either way, it is in really nice shape and only $125. Four Color Comics 735 - Crusader Rabbit - Dell Comics October 1956 - written by Nancy Hoag - art by Dan Gormley 1 - Crusader Rabbit - Crusader Rabbit and the Schmohawk Indians - 17 pages 2 - Crusader Rabbit - Crusader Rabbit and the Lechrechaun's Gold - 16 pages Crusader Rabbit is the first animated series produced specifically for television. Its main characters were Crusader Rabbit and his sidekick Ragland T. Tiger, or "Rags". The stories were 4-minute-long satirical cliffhangers. The concept was test marketed in 1948, while the initial serial – Crusader vs. the State of Texas – aired on KNBH (now KNBC) in Los Angeles beginning on August 1, 1950 (not August 1, 1949 as some sources erroneously state). The program was syndicated from 1950 to 1952 for 195 episodes, then was revived in 1959 for 260 color episodes. Jay Ward, who went on to create The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, was involved as business manager and producer. Crusader Rabbit got 2 issues of Four Color, a Wonder Book and a Whitman Top Top Tales from Western Publishing.
