Melting down gold records for warmth by Jazz Tapes
To show off my newly working U-20 I decided to improvise a short drone piece that ironically only uses 3-4 keys. Anyways it is very Windy & Carlish and mega heavy, this song is meant to be listened to in a dark room, hunched over 6 inches in front of your monitors with a head full of whatever makes your mind go blank. I made judicious use of the Microverb IV as it offers excellent lo-fi digital reverb that I've relied on for ages (listen for those rattlesnake-like digital artifacts in the 15-20kHz range). A secondary track consisting of white noise style sounds was recorded with my guitar going directly into a Roland VG-8EX and then through the Microverb. Just a bit of processing with Izotope Ozone and I sealed the track by gluing everything together. Enjoy.
