Finals are already freakin’ me out so as a temporary distraction I tried to mimic the style of the avatars from JD and picked a coach w/o an avatar that would make it so I couldn’t cheat.

I’ve drawn Hadley a few times but I was like, “no I gotta lock in.” Plus ig since I put in him thorns Also had to give him a weird ass off balance pose like they all fuckin have. Anyway, that’s the as it was guy :)

What’s any Just Dance headcanon you’ve been dying to yap about?

oh god where do I even begin LOL

I guess I’ll start with the headcanons I have for Hadley, coach of As It Was by Harry Styles :D

Look, okay, so—

Just consider the following:

If they really want Traveler and Night Swan to have had a child together—Hadley would be MUCH better suited for that.

Like, LOOK AT HIM !!!

Hadley’s traits include:

• Dark blue hair

• Pink outfit

• Gold/yellow glove (!!!)

• Gold jewelry (!!!)

He’s a MUCH better blend of the designs of both Night Swan and The Traveler.

So, onto the part where I discuss What exactly I think happened:

In short:

Hadley is the son of The Traveler and Night Swan; He was disowned (well, that’s putting it a bit lightly—more like discarded) by Night Swan at an extremely early age out of her sheer embarrassment, leading him to be adopted and raised by Belacus, Goddess of Water.

Meanwhile, The Traveler didn’t even remember or realize he existed at all until he was an adult 💀

Why do I think Belacus is the one who adopted him? This:

The move that Hadley does here is like a more-energetic version of the move Belacus performs in Woman. Perhaps he learned it from her?

Now, as for how Belacus found Hadley in the first place…

Overcome with embarrassment, Night Swan literally tossed him into the Eternyx ocean as a baby.

Belacus, Goddess of Water, noticed this and immediately rescued him as soon as she could, raising him as her own.

Funnily enough, this actually ended up being a good thing for Hadley; being disowned by Night Swan this early on in his life meant he actually ended up being spared from all of the trauma that Night Swan would end up inflicting on her other children (like Jack 💀)

Belacus was a much, much better mother to him than Night Swan ever could have been, so he actually ended up having a pretty alright childhood.

Being the (albeit illegitimate) son of The Traveler, I imagine Hadley also inherited the ability to open portals, just like his half-brother Wanderlust did :D

Despite some of the other opinions/headcanons I’ve seen, I actually imagine Hadley as being a very competent person LOL

In my headcanon, he’s like, 30 years old at the time of As It Was, so 💀

I imagine Jack Rose to be like 25 years old at the time of the story mode, which makes him 5 years younger than his half-brother Hadley

I like to imagine that Hadley and Jack are best friends, and have been for a good while.

Hadley would visit him via a portal just to check on him every so often. I like to think these visits from Hadley (which were basically always managed to be done in secret without Night Swan finding out) were a GIGANTIC help with just, like… helping Jack survive in that environment. Knowing that there’d always be Hadley there to support him.

Perhaps Jack learned that move from someone?

Additionally, I do have the headcanon (this might actually be implied ingame depending on how you look at it) that The Traveler and Wanderlust both possess powers of Telekinesis.

As The Traveler’s son, I believe Hadley ALSO has telekinesis; shown by how the panels behind him spin every time he throws his hands up

I’ve even created my own concept of what his own triangle symbol (similar to the unique symbols that The Traveler and Wanderlust possess) might’ve looked like, if he had one.

For him, I envisioned a triangle with lots of interlocking circles within it, so this is an idea/concept I came up with for it !

I imagine that he likely would’ve worn it as a pendant at the end of his gold necklace, similar to how The Traveler wears his own.

Otherwise, though, Hadley doesn’t really have contact with his father or his ‘real’ mother. To him, Belacus is pretty much his main parental figure. He doesn’t mind this though, and in fact has had quite a happy life so far. Y’know, besides basically being Jack’s only support system, especially for both before meeting the rest of the Just Dancers and after the events of the JD2024 story mode where practically everyone else has been taken from Jack.

(The people around him keep getting traumatized though and he’s just like ????? why is so much happening to everyone else???)

Anyway, that’s pretty much most of what I have headcanoned for Hadley. There is some more that I could say, but I think I’ll leave it at that for now. This is already getting to be a pretty long post LOL

Hadley (As It Was) and Joy-Ce are the same coach in my mind, with Hadley being a slightly older Joy-Ce. Joy-Ce’s “Butter” appearance demonstrates it the most clearly.
