working on our night moves

tonight before my Dave fell asleep he said to me, and I quote:

“I’m going to fall asleep before you. When you’re ready to go to sleep, can you please make sure I’m holding you? The other morning I was so upset when I woke up and I wasn’t holding you.” I’m wearing his boxers to sleep in. This is by far the greatest version of myself. This is the way I’ve always wanted a relationship to be. We’ll be the grandparents dancing and kissing in the kitchen. This is not make-believe.
