post valentine's day blues

and i'm realizing that i don’t have to be the best

i sat here and i cried out to mary 

i asked her to save me and show me the way

i failed and failed and failed after trying for three days

i came to the realization that this is not for me

i can’t learn like this 

i can’t think like this

it’s such a shame because i wanted it to be this way

i thought you were supposed to be simple

you were supposed to be so easy

i have taken your words for granted

there is virtue in your demeanor 

your heavy load and beautiful pose 

has opened my eyes

i don’t have to be the best for you

i idolized you

kissing the ground you walked on while the gravel scratched my lips 

my teeth shaven from never looking up

I want the best

I deserve it

Take it easy

I’m becoming human

And it’s tough to know, I’m weak

But I will let all my desires fulfill me

Rain, please come and make me clean

Wash away my fears 

Tired of choking on my tears

I cried in front of you

A sign of great sensitivity 

Perhaps that’s what I need to calm my needs
