One thing I love about the Jean/Scott/Warren love triangle in the ‘60s comics is that, while it has a lot of conflict and miscommunication and all that jazz, only a very generous 1% of said conflict is actually caused by Warren. The vast majority of the angst is Scott “I can’t date and/or experience happiness bc I have to wear glasses all day every day to keep the world safe and also I’m the leader of the X-Men so that would probably be like an HR violation or something” Summers and Jean “wow Scott is so cold and distant and leader-y all the time gosh how could I ever believe he loved me that was so foolish of me” Grey being all angsty without a second of communication.

Meanwhile Warren is driving circles in his big fancy car pondering wether or not he’s imagining Scott’s ginormous and ridiculously obvious crush on Jean or not and being altogether pretty unbothered by the entire situation
