This is not the most nuanced or complex take because A: this is a fandom blog and B: I do not have the most nuanced understanding of the geopolitical situation in Yemen and how it relates to Saudi Arabia.
But I'm horrified (though to be clear, not surprised) by the comments from Toto Wolff, Andreas Seidl, Helmut Marko, and I'm sure others I haven't seen.
The amount of war "the West" will accept in a country is not an issue of THEIR cultures but ours - and of luck, privilege, and money to further extents.
If any of you (as I did) feel like you might not understand the players and the conflict, I thought this was a useful overview article from the BBC.
I'm glad he's no longer going to be working and that action was taken regarding his tweets, but truly how horrifying and awful.
