@jedzas​ - book dialogue starter. 

                         “ your fame runs ahead of you, sorceress, it's louder than draig bon-dhu's accursed bagpipes, and there are equally few pleasant notes in it. “

         “   i had dream about back when i was younger   .   when you were helping me learn to control my chaos   .   ”   tired words   ,   hands wiping at face   .   “   i seem to be doing that a lot recently   ,   thinking of before   . 

   memories were all her dreams consisted of now   ,   perhaps it was good she wasn’t surround by the sharpness of the cold for the moment   .   she’s like to think it was part yennifer’s doing and part geralt’s   .   the stability of the two she believed in a trusted the most   .

   though the face the other wears appears to be stoic   ,   triss can see past it   .   time may have past since the intial confrontation between the two but they hadn’t spoken since   .   the mistake was her own   ,   she knew in the end what she had done was wrong   .   omission of important information was still a lie   . 

   she’s not here to argue or yell   ,   triss knows that much   .   once dealt with   ,   there was no need for yennifer to yell again   .   “   don’t worry   ,   i won’t stay long   .   ”   a statement caught in the wind as wild red dances like flames before she looks away towards the horizon   ,   sun setting slowly off in the distance   .   standing on the ramparts of kaer morhen was a luxury few held   . 

   “   i just had to make sure she was okay   ,   same as the rest   .   i missed the view   .   ”

   “   you know there are better ways to alleviate your boredom   .   ”

   smile pulls on lips as she watches the magic work   .   eyes of her best friend shine in a way they do only when they woman is casting spells   .   it’s always been a pleasure to watch yennifer work   ;   something about the way she moves the magic around that brings out awe   .   “   pick up a book perhaps   ?   ”

   the tease is light between friends   ,   there’s only faint envy in the eyes of the red head   ,   mostly because of the control   .   she too is able to cast   ,   and powerfully   ,   but it appears far more consistent and less tiring for yennifer than it does for her   .   “   why are you playing with your magic right now anyways   ,   the weather looks as though it’s about to turn for the worst   .   trying to see if you can temper that too   ?   ”

      she smells of white gull and celandine   .   practice makes perfect as fingers add in exact portions   .   even now she knows perfected smell in her sleep   ;   the difference between this one and the one far less potent   .   she’s not making swallow for her   ,   but for him   . 

   she hates the taste of potions going down   . 

   taught awareness turns her head   ,   the sound of grass moving where it hadn’t before   .   dark hair catches her attention   ,   it takes only a few seconds before purple eyes reflect in the light of the fire   .   “   i couldn't sleep   .   ”   she answers before the question was even asked   ,   but she doesn’t move to greet her practically adopted mother   .   there’s a chill in the air   ;   she knows winter is coming but the cold makes her nervous   .

   “   you’re not going to tell me to stop working   ,   are you   ?   ”

   the   sound   of   miscellaneous   objects   hitting   the   floor   echoes   in   the   room   as   portal   closes   behind   her   .   small   female   looks   up   ,   a   smile   on   her   lips   .   it   had   been   a   very   long   time   since   she   laid   eyes   upon   her   ,   the   air   in   the   room   smelled   of   faint   familiarity   ;   at   least   she   was   consistent   . 

   “   you’re   here   .   and   without   witcher   attached   ,   how   lucky   for   me   .   ”   jest   dances   in   her   tone   .   “   i   hear   your   blonde   has   been   sowing   chaos   .   ”
