Surreal Stage of Mind Series by Jee Young Lee
Jee Young Lee is a Korean artist that really knows how to convert her small studio space (11.8′ x 13.5′ x 7.8′) in Seoul, Korea into some really absurd and beautiful dreamscapes. Every single detail is made by hand, from the lighting, the suspended objects and the center elements. Everything added into the set of taking one final photograph. Such a incredible act of determination of sharing her own stories and vision.

My Favorite Contemporary Artist
Korean Artist Jee Young created these photos using only the space within her art studio, which is quite small. Smaller than any of the MFA art studios at Portland State. It is easy to name artists I like, or artists I am influenced by- but all of them are either drag queens or dead.
Jee is a living, breathing- I might argue conceptual drag artist- as she is able to make so much from so little. She will most certainly influence me as I create a new space out of my studio, as I make it queer. Can't wait for it's Coming Art Party!
