Day 27 - Beast
The black-and-white polecat cocks his shotgun. "Look here, son. We don't want any of your trouble. They might put up with you deviants wherever you come from, but this is Nebraska."
Wayward Son, Chapter 27, Rainbow Rowell.
Jeff Arnold definitely knows how to keep mages out of the Quiet Zone. When his shotgun is broken, he brings out the chemical warfare.

If God chooses to heal the sick, I'm not taking the credit.
If He chooses not to heal him, I'm not taking the blame. I'm not the healer 😆

The Great Pearl
Matthew 13:45-46
"Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls, who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it." (AMP)
The formation of a natural pearl begins when a foreign substance slips into the oyster between the mantle and the shell, which irritates the mantle. It's kind of like the oyster getting a splinter. The oyster's natural reaction is to cover up that irritant to protect itself. The mantle covers the irritant with layers of the same nacre substance that is used to create the shell. This eventually forms a pearl.
Other interesting facts of the pearl:
- The pearl is formed from all types of junk. Pieces of sand, bone fragments from dead fish, etc.
- After irritant lodges itself inside the oyster, it can take the creature up to 3 years to produce the pearl.
- The pearl grows hidden inside the oyster under the water, where no one can see it happen.
- One of the outstanding qualities of the pearl is its ability to reflect light. The luster of a pearl, or the lack thereof, can dramatically affect its value!
#word
God, may the pearl that you want to form in us be without hindrance and as much as possible that we will let You to determine the amount of irritants in our lives (even when that irritant is ourselves). Let Your steadfast love and Word be that mantle which cover those irritants. It is easier said than done, but at the end of the day, may the pearl reflect Your light and be of great value to those who do not know You...and they too, will see the pearl of great price and sell all that they have.
