So I’m seeing I, Tonya tomorrow and I’ve realized how much I missed seeing Sebastian in movies. I didn’t get the chance to see Logan Lucky so the last time I saw him in theatres was Civil War and i might cry ❤️
I, Tonya - Some Thoughts
So I watched I, Tonya last night. Margot and Allison were as exceptional as was to be expected, as has been written. But Sebastian? Sebastian was incredible.
In the first 30 minutes he makes you fall in love with fresh-out-of-high-school-Jeff. In the first 40 minutes he makes you hate Jeff. In the first hour he makes you cringe when he’s on screen.
It was so difficult to watch Seb as Jeff beat the shit out of Margot as Tonya. It made me uncomfortable. It scared me.
And I have never been scared of an actor’s character before. An actor sure. A character in a book, of course. But most of the time, in film it’s not the characters that scare me it’s the circumstances surrounding them, it’s the situations they put themselves in.
Watching I, Tonya I was scared of Sebastian as Jeff Gilooly.
He’s that good in his role.
