Reading all your fic meme asks is awesome (I love author insights) but it also makes me super sad and angry because: why would people send you hate for fic you wrote? And more generally, why do people send hate at all? I just don't get it and I'm sorry that you've experienced so much of it. I've been aware of you since at least SGA era, and you seem like a super awesome person. (Okay that last bit sounds way creepier than I meant it.)
If you took a survey of every writer who got any attention in fandom, you’d realize we each have horrifying, blood-curdling stories about a rainbow of awful internet interactions. When you put yourself out there, you’re putting yourself at risk of judgment -- fair or otherwise. You get more skilled at ignoring mean things that people say, but it never gets easier; don’t listen to anybody who says they laugh it off, it hurts every time.
THAT SAID, this is probably one of my most favorite pieces of what is your fucking DEAL hate I’ve ever received. It’s notable for several reasons, including that it was left on the end of Least of All Possible Mistakes (which is a really, really long story to hate read if you are going to hate read a story) and secondly, the presumption that if you’re the kind of necrotic shitstain of a human who would leave a comment like this, I’d be concerned about your future fan fiction reading patronage.
