Jellyfish Humanoid
Played with some bell mottling for my glowjelly creature concept. Also eyes. Box jellies have about 24 eyes set in clusters on all four sides of their...heads, for lack of a better term. This creature might not have so many and they might be more concentrated on the front, but it’s still kind of creepy-cool. These are typically hidden from view by the ruffle around her bell, but I wanted them in there all the same. Even on the very first silhouette sketch I was kind of thinking of a ‘seer’ theme with the eye area of the jelly’s face being hidden from outside view. So, yep. Lots and lots of eyes, but at a casual glance there seems to be no eyes at all.
The second picture is some very loose color tests. The green one is eyecatching, but that might be because it’s in the middle and the only green I tried. I mostly did that on a whim; it’s not exactly a jellyfish color, so I’m uncertain of it. Otherwise I’m leaning toward the one just to the left of that, with the purples and blues, but I’m open to input and may be swayed by feedback.
