(04.2017) The final to one of my latest commissions! I’m very happy with the turn out, although there are elements I would change. A huge thank you to Cameron for this commission, I hope your girlfriend likes it!
The final of my new baby, Wendy! Complete with eyes, smile and my new logo (bottom left)! I’m really pleased with how it turned out, although she was originally going to have a spooky expression she just looks so cute like this!
Wendy will be debuting next weekend at the London MCM Comic Con, available in A4 and 6x4 prints!
(Left) The unedited version of Wendy: as it looked after being scanned in. (Right) Wendy with deep blue shadows and off white highlights, with an opaque deep blue overlay to the background.
The WIP for my latest jellyfish! I’ve been after doing a Ghost Jellyfish for an October Comic Con (Seen as how it’s right near my favourite holiday, Halloween!) so this was an anticipated piece for me!
I wanted to go with an all blue colour scheme to inspire that spooky ghostly feeling that comes with this time of year! Unlike the rest of her family, Wendy as I’m going to name her, was a lot easier to conceptualise! While I’m happy with my progress so far, I have decided once she’s finished that I’ll work on adding darker shadows and highlighting areas digitally. I’m thinking of doing a wash the same colour as the background too but lowering the opacity and sorting it so she stands out from the background more!
(09.2017) The final of Emma’s commission! I’m so happy with this, I was worried about how the two very different themes would fit together but I think the similiar colour schemes the sister’s have helped bring it all together. This was my first time drawing Shetland ponies, which I LOVE drawing now, so I will be doing more. I chose the Shetland ponies over actual horses as their size and stature makes it easier for them to be draw proportionally in small spaces. I hope you like it Emma!
(09.2017) The WIP for Emma’s commission! It’s of her and her younger sister, who was described to love horse riding and her mobile like a typical teenage. She is also into boho so I went for a traditional boho inspired floral pattern for her jellyfish (left) and I knew from the get go she was going to have a riding helmet! Emma herself (right) requested to be red, and mentioned being a huge Skyrim fan. She’s a mage type, and since she always joins the Dark Brotherhood I used their insignia as her pattern. I’ve learnt that I love creating patterned jellyfish which is definitely something to consider for the future. Since they are sisters, I wanted to keep the jellyfish type the same, and both sisters are Mauve jellyfish.
(09.2017) The final for Laura’s commission! This was probably one of the easiest ones for me to complete as I was already familiar with the interests she wanted including. Also the colour scheme was a therapeutic one to do as well, since I find pinks and purples blend quite naturally.
