Hello~! This is Jellyfish Parade, a small indie dev that makes otome games and VNs. I wanted to share our kickstarter here for our newest game, Belle Automata!

Belle Automata is a science fiction otome game. Play as Aureve [renameable], a sentient tapestry-weaving android who's been given a new life when she is purchased by a mysterious benefactor after the death of her former master. Navigate this new strange world with humans, cyborgs and of course romanceable androids!

Gif 1 shows the internal thoughts of the player character Nova: "It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what she’s implying. Does she think that someone as straight-laced and strict as my grandma would steal her grandma’s husband?”

Gif 2 shows an exchange between Nova and a package delivery man saying, “Not my problem.” Nova replies with, “Excuse me?” to wich the delivery man says, “Look, kid, I don’t know what to tell you. I have a package right here for a ‘Nova V. Monroe.’”

Gif 3 details Nova’s internal thoughts about the characters before her: “Soh scrutinizes me for a moment. I can’t read his reaction well, but as soon as he moves his gaze to Koh, he looks at him unblinkingly without saying anything else.”

Gif 4 highlights the encyclopedia feature of the game. Entries on the characters Kodias “Kody” Vensil, the Mail Guy, and Nova Vivienne Monroe are cycled through.

Ocean Pearls: Kissed By The Sea is a visual novel about romancing fantasy mer-kings! Play as Nova, a Black sculptor who has returned to Stonewater after the passing of her grandmother. With an undersea world of mysteries, break open happiness and fall in love with a diverse cast of characters!

Developed by Owl, a Black developer behind other visual novels such as Celestia, PAIRS, Of Ice & Snow, and many more titles across multiple genres. Using Ren’Py to make her games, Owl reinforces diversity in her creations. She also has a Tumblr @jelpiparade.

Soooo there's an otome character type chart floating around on discord & I made a chart of all my best bois. Some clear types dominating but I like what I like 😂🤷🏾 Have you played all of these too? *Slight Correction*: Since playing Uesugi Kenshin's route on IkeSen, I'd like to add 'Yandere Warden' to his listing. Only Yandere I'll ever love 😭

September Update #1

Hello, everyone! September has ended which means it's time for an update!

Victor's route has been completely recorded.

Now is the processing stage! That means the audio engineer takes the voices from their normal state and makes them sound like androids, cuts the lines, etc.

And then once the VA is received, we can begin programming them in! And THEN, once that's coded in, we follow up with expressions being coded in...... And finally, QA testing and release can be finalized. It's an exciting and scary time but we're right on time!

Diego's route has been partially recorded.

Specifically, I've recorded with Victor's VA, Brandon, Tareek, Diego's VA, as well as Jerron, Zaffre's VA, Klaus's VA, Davon. I've done some work with Zoe, Aureve's VA but not entirely. Next up is to schedule sessions with the Nightmare Prince's VA!

Also, in my last update, it was only 15k longer but actually it is 25k longer than the other routes. There's not much we can do about it though, so... RIP.

Zaffre's route has begun.

Shannon, my second writer, has started on Zaffre's route. Currently it's at about 17k.

Victor's first two CGs have been sketched out.

Here's a little spoiler!

I wonder what he could POSSIBLY be saying to Aureve...?

The Nightmare Prince's VA has totally been scripted.

Endings included!

Sprites are 75% coded into the Nightmare Prince's route.

They're also in progress for Victor's route but for now, it's mostly just the extended demo section.

Jellyfish Parade is opening our second casting call for voice actors! We are seeking fully voiced VA but at this time, will just be voicing the prologue.

We are especially looking for VAs of color!
