Headcanon time:

Shepard was pregnant with Kaidan's child when the SR-1 went down. Cerberus managed to recover genetic material from the child and cloned the daughter without Shepard's (or Kaidan's) knowledge. Feeling bad for the child, Miranda smuggles her away and she was raised as Jenny Lawson (or some other name that will ultimately link her to Miranda, maybe by the same family that raised Oriana?). And Miranda grows hyper-protective of her. And Jenny just rolls her eyes 'oh my God Mum I can look out for myself!'

15-20 years after the Reaper War ended, Jenny sets out to find her real parents in this brave new world after all Reaper technology was destroyed, and has some awesome space adventures with Grunt and Kolyat (I already ship Kolyat with Shep's daughter, is that weird?) and some new faces. She learns that her mother might actually still be alive. She finally meets her dad, Admiral Kaidan Alenko, and though initially highly sceptical of this alleged daughter of his, he's intrigued by her evidence that the love of his life may in fact still be out there somewhere. He learns to see this girl he suddenly kind of 'adopts' as his chance to honor Shepards memory...

Jemma just had to tell Thane that she still has feelings for Kaidan and wants to follow these feeling through. I almost couldn't do it because he looked so sad! Luckily my headcanon for them between ME2 and ME3 made it a bit easier... but maaaaaan sad Thane makes me sad. Next playthrough, I'll have Shep stick with him instead.
