““I would like a pardon from the President of the United States.” Dallas area realtor Jenna Ryan is the 2nd D.C. riot participant to ask for one. She flew on a private jet to D.C. to “stop the steal.” FBI arrested her today. She says: I feel persecuted. https://t.co/Rk4XCYVqX3”

This book pleasantly surprised me. I was a bit wary when reading the bio and the first few chapters, but I quickly got hooked. My reading tastes have changed quite a bit in recent months, and it’s been a while since…

Regina dell’Oscurita (Queen of Shadow) by Irene Colabianchi is a modern-day retelling of the story, written in Italian, set in Moscow with a heroine performing as Christine in an operatic adaptation of the story meeting a real-life “opera ghost” at the Bolshoi Theatre who begins to mentor her in her performance.
The Phantom of the Opera: A Photonovel by Lisandro Cottet is an adaptation of the original story in a comic book-esque style, using photos and stills from the 1925 film adaptation with captions. It’s an interesting new way of remixing previous versions and I look forward to reading it!
Murder at the Met by Edward Gray is set in the modern day at New York’s Metropolitan Museum, where a man is hanged from the chandelier in the middle of a performance and the search for the killer reveals a familiarly complicated web of intrigue in the opera house itself.
Puppets by Jenna Ryan is not a new release - it’s from back in the mists of 1992, but I just discovered it so I’m trotting it out for all of you, too. In it, the story is set at the “Paris Puppet Theater” with a heroine who performs as a human puppet, and the Phantom who lurks beneath it and is obsessed with her is, oddly enough, named Raul... (Jenna Ryan also wrote the novel Masquerade, a bizarrely campy Clue-like romance version of the story.)
February may bring more, since it’ll be Valentine’s season. Bring on the romance versions, everybody!

The north Texas realtor who made headlines for taking a private plane to D.C. on Jan. 6 was recently sentenced to 60 days in prison for partaking in the riot at the U.S. Capitol that day.
Eclipsing her earlier headlines, Jenna Ryan went viral for a series of tweets she wrote where she declared that she's definitely "not going to jail.”
“Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail. Sorry to rain on your hater parade. I did nothing wrong," she wrote.
Days before she reported to prison on Dec. 21, Ryan, 51, spoke to NBC News, saying she regretted her decision to go to Capitol, but she then likened her experience to Jews who suffered during the Holocaust.
Jenna Ryan, who pleaded guilty to parading on Capitol grounds, was sentenced last month to 60 days in prison.
A Texas realtor who flew to Washington, DC, on a private jet and took part in the Capitol riot said she planned to practice yoga, detox from alcohol, and lose 30 pounds in prison.
Jenna Ryan, who pleaded guilty to a single federal misdemeanor charge of parading on Capitol grounds, was last month given a $1,500 fine and sentenced to 60 days in a Texas prison, court documents seen by Insider said. The documents indicated she was due to go to prison sometime after January 3, almost a year after the insurrection.
In a TikTok posted on Sunday, Ryan discussed what she planned to do in prison and suggested her main goal was to lose weight.
