Today's featured stone is... JENNITE! Today is my birthday, so I was tickled to find a crystal that started with "Jen". I was not able to find any metaphysical properties about this beautiful, rare crystal, so I thought I would share a little geological info with you instead. Jennite is a calcium silicate hydrate mineral. It occurs as an alteration mineral in metamorphosed limestone and skarn. It typically occurs as vein and open space fillings as a late mineral phase. It was named for Clarence Marvin Jenni (1896-1973), American mineral collector and director of the Geological Museum, University of Missouri. It is a soft crystal with the MOH's hardness of 3.5. Since the other girls are of the cul-de-sac are gems, what would they be? What would their weapon/power be (if you've thought that far, that is)?

I rarely have an answer ready for these questions that are being asked, especially about one-shot series, I have to make things up on the spot.I’d love to make Karen a red diamond. It would create huge contrast between her and the Ans, but the show’s story structure makes this a bad idea. I want my interpretations to live in the same universe as the show’s characters, but not have any relationship or come in contact with them. Perhaps Karen could be a Carnelian, if I want her to represent a proper gem, though I find Karibibite just as acceptable.I would’ve loved to turn Kevin’s bike into a weapon, but Karen doesn’t share his obsession. Since she’s a cheerleader, maybe her gem power is throwing pompoms of fire while jumping and dancing out of reach. Or, if she’s Karibibite, sea urchin-like bombs that explode into needles.Jenny can be Jennite or Jet. Because alright.Jet would be the most appropriate, since it’s wood. Her weapon would be Plank. She could hit people with it, who then enter a moment of insanity/schizophrenia. She’s more of a strategic fighter than offensive one.Jamie is a Jelly Opal. So jelly.Her weapons should be giant stuffed animals and pillows she can wack people with, but since Jimmy has an evil streak, giving her the capability to alter her form into a fanged beast would be cool. Maybe her deal is that she’s a half-corrupted gem and she somehow managed to control that.Rachel can be Richterite. Her power could be.. the Hat of Discipline, for starters. Maybe she can spawn whatever, no matter how silly it is. Her randomness is what makes her unpredictable and strong in confrontations.

What is your opinion on America?

Well, we’ve certainly have made up since the war. We talk sometimes. He’s really enthusiastic, loud, and energetic…but he does it for a good cause. He tries to cheer people up which is nice.
