Hey, about the MCALC app.. Does it work if your periods are irregular? Or do you have to know it your cycle is 28 days or.. whatever people with a regular cycle have?

Honestly, I haven't been able to get it to work at all :(

I'm trying to use US instead of metric for my stats because that's how I know them.  But the stats are default in metric and once I change the settings, it won't let me calculate.  I need to convert them but haven't gotten around to it yet.

If any followers know the answer to this question, please let us know.  In addition, I will update this once I've managed to get the app to work.

Did the Romanovs have a house motto?

Good question. I really had no idea so I looked up for it. Apparently, according to this website, the Romanov motto is “the evil that is now in the world will become even greater, but evil will not vanquish evil, only love can.” Of course I know this quote but I didn’t think it would be the motto of the Romanov House. :)

What are your thoughts on Elia Martell? As in how she was treated in the books, and your own head canon?

I’m more concerned with how fandom treats her, tbh? (Although the way GRRM treats the Martells/Dornish in general is problematic, I'm more than willing to admit) I have faith in GRRM to sort out the Elia/Rhaegar/Lyanna situation to some sort of satisfactory ending that doesn’t either: A. reduce her agency grossly to a simpering shadow on the wall in the history of Robert’s Rebellion or B. a shrew, like fandom seems to want to treat her? I have faith that GRRM will make her as three-dimensional as Cat and Cersei and the rest. (I do think she’ll align more with Cat, in the long run… ) 

My personal headcanon is… a bit confused. Because clearly Rhaegar wanted Lyanna as another wife but we don’t have Elia’s voice (much like in history, hers is lost in the bloodshed) or if she consented. I like to think that perhaps if things progressed like I think they did (my headcanon for Rhaegar and Lyanna is pretty much based off of this graphic) that Elia was able to have sympathy (or pity) for Lyanna. They were both pulled into Rhaegar’s… delusions of prophecy, I supposed you could call them. I just. Ugh. 

I hope Elia found a lot of personal strength and was able to heal, emotionally, after Rhaegar split for good. I think, as a Martell, she was probably very politically apt, but her skills were marginalized by her position in Aerys’ court, and Rhaegar’s complete refusal, almost, to try to do anything politically to make things better and to protect his wife and children in favor of his damned prophecy. I hope in the end Elia was able to reclaim some agency in the chaos. I think she was kind, and sweet, and gentle… but she was also a Martell, and I hope that we get her fleshed out more than being Rhaegar’s wife, and a mother.
